Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of my family’s dogs for as long as I can remember. We have always had medium to large dogs and I have cared for them at any age. I now take care of our senior white lab on occasion, who requires close supervision and correctly timed medications. I also care for our Portuguese Water Dog/Poodle mix who is quite the handful. I have experience in bathing, feeding and giving medications (including when the dog absolutely refuses to take them).

When I am caring for my dogs at home I let them out as needed. Usually after breakfast I let them outside for a bit (making sure they have plenty of water) and then bring them inside if it is too hot, however everyone cares for their dogs differently and I will always follow the owner’s instructions. When they are inside I keep a close eye on them (especially my Portuguese Water Dog because she likes to cause trouble). Depending on the breed and how active they are, I love to relax with them or take them outside to play for a while.

Any special treatments, medications or behaviors I should know about. I am a quick learner and can adapt my treatment to them as per the owner’s request.
A typical day
I love taking the dogs for walks around different neighborhoods with plenty of stops to take in all the new smells, mainly letting them lead the way of where they want to go. Getting dogs active is great as well, whether I’m letting them chase me around outside or simply just playing with a tennis ball.

Availability
I am a full time student during the year but I am available in the mornings during the week to walk or stop by to let dogs out. I am available to dog sit on weekends (Thursday night through Sunday afternoon). Currently during the summer I am available on some weekends in the afternoons as I will be at my internship during the week.
