Pet care experience
My husband and I have recently retired and have both had pets and dogs all our lives. We have enjoyed house sitting for a couple of years, where we have looked after many types of dogs, cats and pets and have excellent references available from happy pet owners. We have experience of caring for over 30 dogs - both young and elderly dogs and administering medication. We will adapt our care to the individual needs of your dog or cat and do everything possible to make sure their stay with us is a fun and enjoyable experience. Although we will take some large dogs we do not feel protective or guarding dogs are a good match for us. We have been inspected by the local authority and are licensed to provide home boarding, being rated Higher Standard. I have a Level 3 qualification in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare, ​and a Level 2 qualification in Canine First Aid. When you entrust your dog's care to us you can be sure they are in safe and caring hands.

We cannot recommend Esther and Martin enough, they were wonderful! Kes is an older dog who requires alot of TLC, and they did just that! We received regular updates and pictures about how he was getting on and communication was excellent. They were attentive to his needs and followed his routine and medication plan. Kes was treated like a member of their family and for that we are really grateful.
We left our two dogs today with Esther and her husband and cannot recommend them highly enough. They have been so helpful and patient with arranging everything and Layla and Poppy warmed to them immediately. We were a bit wary of leaving Poppy with anyone new as she can get anxious very easily but the pictures they sent to us showed how happy they both were. It was really good to get updates from them throughout the day.
Esther and Martin are capable and dependable people who we have found to be very trustworthy over the 30 years that we have known them. They have been great at looking after our current dog, (Siberian Husky), understanding and attending to her specific needs, and taking her for walks. They are skilled and competent people who love pets, will deal appropriately with any issues that may arise and have lots of experience, over many years, in managing a wide variety of animals. Highly recommended.

We have a 3 bedroomed home with a fenced garden and your dog will be able to wander around the same as they would at home. We are located in a rural area and have lots of lovely walks on our doorstep and will walk the dogs twice a day according to their needs.

We have looked after many breeds of dogs as well as cats, small pets, chickens, ducks, doves, ponies and more! We will want to find out as much as possible about your pet and if they have any specific needs we can discuss the support they will require from us.
A typical day
We have a lot of flexibility to enjoy time with your pets in our care and they will become part of our family during their stay. We rise early and go for two walks a day regardless of whether we are sitting or not. The length and type of walk can be adjusted to suit the individual needs of dog we are caring for. With a good sized garden the dogs would regularly have toilet breaks as well as time for games and plenty of sniffing around! We enjoy watching TV in the evening and your dogs would be a part of our relaxation time with us on the sofa.

Availability
As retirees we are available at home all day to care for your dog. We don't have our own pets so we are able to devote all our time and attention to those we look after. We only accept bookings from one pet owner at a time so your dog gets individual attention and does not have the stress of adapting to a new home and other unfamiliar dogs.
