My earliest experience with dogs was when I brought home two boxers from a friends house. I was only suppose to get one, but when the owner told me, if no one takes the white one, she would put her to sleep, I immediately said, I'll take her too! Patches and Blanca spent the next 13 years growing up with me and my loving family. In my mid twenties, I brought home a 6 week old rottie. She was adorable highly protective and extremely intelligent. She learned commands easily and was doggie valedictorian of her training class. Shadow grew up and around the age of 3, I added another rottie, Maggie from BARC. Maggie was going to be put to sleep because no one wanted her. I had 3/4 of an acre at the time and I took her home. She became a loving addition to our family. Shadow was able to stay with me until she was 13 and Maggie passed at 12. Both dogs were very loyal, loving and had their moments, and will forever stay in my heart. A few years later, I had a red nose tip pitbull, Sasha, show up on my front porch with a collar that had grown into her skin. When I went out the front door, she immediately dashed inside. That's how we met (Seriously). I turned around went back into the house and said, get out of my house, she ran straight to the back door and laid down. She would not move. I was uncertain, but cautiously walked up to her. She stood up and bowed her head. I saw the damage of the collar ....end of story.... or should I say the beginning.. lol. Now, I have a 12 year Boxer named Tyson and a 2 year old chihuahua, named Nala. Both bring joy, love and fun in my life Now on to my new adventure... taking care of your beloved pets while you are away!
