Hi there! My name is Eline and I am a 34-year old animal-loving, active and positive person who would absolutely love to take care of your pets! As an experienced pet- and housesitter, I am also able to care for animals that require some additional (medical) care and attention as well as look after high-quality luxury homes or sizeable properties. My previous pet-sits (through Trusted Housesitters) all received 5-star reviews. Moreover, I grew up in an animal-friendly environment in the Dutch countryside and have had a variety of pets throughout my life (cats, dogs (mostly large dogs / German shepherds), baby goats, and fish). About myself: I work (mostly) from home as an independent business consultant. For ease of communication, I speak fluent English, Dutch, German and French (and understand a tiny bit of Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese). Outside of work, I enjoy being active, getting engulfed in nature, do sports, enjoy music, socialise and travel. I have a big love for both animals as well as nature, and I care a lot about taking care of this aspect of our world. My biggest passion is surfing and my biggest dream is to learn to surf big waves. Because of my travels I am not able to have a pet of my own, which is why I signed up for Rover: being allowed the opportunity to take care of those of others' - that would fill me with joy. Both to spend time with animals, as well as to be able to help pet owners that are looking for someone reliable to help them out when away. Eline took such great care of Kali whilst we went to the fête in Bayonne. She loves animals and Kali was immediately relaxed and happy with her. She sent us updates and photos during his stay. Kali has separation anxiety and Eline managed this well, allowing time to get to know Kali a little before we left. Eline gave Kali lots of cuddles, play times and walks and he came home happy and relaxed. Communication was easy and very friendly. We will definitely contact Eline again if we’re back in the area. Eline is an absolute superstar! She looked after our dogs with exceptional care! She took into account their very different needs….Jake the older dog who is going blind was cared for impeccably, Alfie, our crazy younger dog went running with her, she played with them both and gave them lots of love and cuddles. Not only did she care for our dogs but she looked after our vegetable garden and our house was beautifully clean and tidy. We would welcome her back without any hesitation, she is a truly lovely young lady

My home: I live in a spacious apartment in which your beloved pet can roam freely, or I can create a dedicated space depending on your preferences. Before any petsit in my home I will carefully check for and take care of any potential safety hazards. I understand that animals are animals, and that accidents can happen at times - no problem. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know in advance if your cat or dog has issues with scratching, chewing, etc (my sofa is very precious to me). What is important to note is that my apartment is only accessible via stairs. Any animal that can be physically lifted by me, I will carry upstairs in my arms. Larger pets will need to walk the stairs themselves, hence should your pet have any hip and / or physical issues - this is something to be considerate about. Your home: I have quite some experience doing pet- and housesitting in luxury homes, hence I will be able to treat your home with the utmost diligence and care. What I would love to know, so that I can take precautions: - previous behaviours during petsits / walks, both positive and negative - all is ok - any allergies - any food constraints - any known medical issues - whether friendly with other animals - any issues with chewing, scratching, peeing or any damage on items inside a home - behaviour when home alone (e.g. if your pet barks a lot when alone, this is good for me to know in advance as I live in an apartment with thin walls) - if they are ok to have a bath
A typical day
A typical day would include a lot of different walks and breaks so that your pet can take in all the smells of the Pays Basque: I like to go to the park, walk along the river (there are always loads of friendly dog companions to meet there!) or walk along the ocean cliffs. If traffic / time allows, I might take him / her somewhere with the car to go for a more quiet walk. Inside the apartment your pets can expect a lot of cuddles, a lot of play time, a bit of dancing perhaps, and if your breed is typically curious - I like testing them with some games & learning activities. Moreover, I will always do my best to accommodate your pets typical sleep / eat pattern as I understand how important that can be.

Availability
I work (mostly) from home, which provides me with a lot of flexibility in my working hours and my availability to play with and care for your dearly-loved pets. They will mostly have a loving companion around! I do travel a fair bit, so ideally please check my availability with me in advance.
