Pet care experience
I grew up with pets of all kinds: dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, toads— you name it. When I was in first grade, I wanted to be a vet or a pet store owner. Although I didn't end up with either of those careers, I have always managed to have as many animals in my life as possible. I spent 5 years in college working at a vet and kennel as a kennel worker, so I have firsthand experience handling various kinds of dogs (and their feline friends!). I have been a pet-sitter for family and friends, have been a Rover sitter since July 2021, and currently have a dog and two cats of my own. I have experience with senior dogs, training puppies, and administering medication. I can help care for your other small pets as well, such as domesticated rabbits, rats, reptiles, and birds. I am used to stubborn dogs and have to pill my cat everyday, so please tell me if your pet comes with any challenges and I will be happy to discuss their needs!
Reviews
Erin was awesome! She took such good care of my "old man" Nico (13 years old) for the week that I was away. I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing that he was in good hands. I will definitely book with Erin again for my next vacation!
Fantastic as always!! Erin managed to befriend our very shy cat and made sure she was happy and comfortable while we were away for 11 days.
Perfect! Thank you!
Erin seamlessly cared for our kitties while away for the week- our first time using Rover and we lucked out with such a great and easy caretaker. No problems or issues and happy to have such a nice person loom after our pets. Can't thank you enough Erin!

I am known for befriending other people's pets who typically don't like strangers. First impressions are everything, so I take things nice and slow when introducing myself to animals, never to force a shy animal to adjust too quickly.

NOTE: I am temporarily limiting all my available services to existing clients only. I am happy to have served you all so far, and thank you for being great repeat clients that I need to close new clients at this time. DROP-IN visits for dogs include a brief walk and/or playtime, as well as feeding. Cat visits include feeding, litter-box cleaning, and playtime. I can only BOARD small dogs, less than 25 lbs or so-- and only over the weekend. In the case of INCLEMENT WEATHER, in lieu of a full walk, I will take your pup out for a quick walk to go potty, and spend the rest of the time playing inside. This includes heavy rain & sleet and extreme heat & cold, etc, depending on how your dog feels. Before confirming a booking, I may ask you a few questions, depending on the service. For Dog Walking, I'll ask things like: how does your dog react to seeing other dogs while on a walk? What kinds of training methods do you use, and how should I give corrections? Where do you keep the leash and/or harness? For Drop-ins? How do I prepare your pet's meal and how many times a day should he/she be fed? For Boarding? I will ask for a Meet-and-Greet so we can see how our dogs get along. I will also ask if your dog sleeps in a crate, which is preferred. You can bring your own or I have one for small dogs under 15lbs.
A typical day
We can do on walks around town, take a hike in the Wissahickon, play ball games in the yard, visit the park (mainly Gorgas Park), to meet with other dogs, etc.

Availability
As a remote-worker during the weekdays, I am able to work with a more flexible schedule than a typical 9-5er. I am happy to discuss your ideal schedule and work it into mine.
