Before caring for your pet, I like to know a little bit more about: training cues; leash behaviors; history of reactivity; treats, meds, and feeding schedule; favorite toys; typical routines; and expectations for pet behavior within your home.
A typical day
I choose activities based on each pet's preferences and needs. With some, it's long walks or games of fetch. Others need a slower pace. Some of my cats could play Laser all day while others prefer random objects that they decide are the only toys in the world (cat people know). I'll get to know what stimulates your pet as well as soothes them.
