I have a ten year old dog who I have always had primary care over. I have learned through caring for her I am very able to make sure any animal under my care is fed, walked, and played with enough to keep them happy. If taking care of a pet in my own home I have plenty of room and resources to care for any dog. I also have a fenced backyard any dog can play in, and a nice neighborhood to walk them in. If going to the owners house I will be able to travel there and do whatever is needed for the dog from this other location. Over the summer I will have lots of free time in order to give any pet the necessary care needed.
