Country Canine - Training/Boarding

Pet care experience

I'm Erin and I have been a professional in canine industry since 2013. I have always had a love for animals and currently have 2 dogs in my home. They are members of my family and we do everything together. We train in obedience, agility, retrieving/hunting, and tricks! I have a BSc. in animal biology and am able to provide for all of your dog's needs. In 2011 I was an intern at Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre and provided around the clock care for all species. During my university career, I was a captain for the OVC's foal watch team, responsible for 24/7 care of neonatal foals. Currently I volunteer with Standard Poodle Rescue - Ontario and co-ordinate the intake and adoption process. I also train and rehab dogs to help them become more adoptable. I am offering dog training and boarding. DOG TRAINING (available in my home or at yours) Do you find your dog…. • Pulling on the leash? • Jumping on guests? • Bolting out the door? • Only listening when they feel like it? • Barking excessively? • Eating food off the counter? …If you answered yes to any of those, I can help! Listen, I know you love your dog. I know your dog is a great dog…but, I also know that you want your dog to behave better! You can have peace in your home. You can have a relaxed walk in the neighborhood with your dog. You can walk out to your car to get the last bag of groceries and not have to worry about your dog bolting down the street. You can have guests over and not have to crate your dogs or put them in another room so that they don’t bother your friends. You can have confidence while playing with your dog off-leash. This is all possible, and more, with some guidance from a balanced trainer. PUPPY TRAINING This board and train is for puppies between 16 weeks and 6 months of age. Your puppy will live 24/7 in my home, which includes a lifestyle of structure, routine, socialization, and supervised play. By living at my home for 1 week, your puppy will develop a new foundation and state-of-mind that will make it easy for you to continue training at your home. This will empower you to continue developing a new and incredible relationship with your dog as he/she grows up! In this program, your puppy will learn the following skills: •Walk politely with you On-Leash •Sit/Stay •Down/Stay •Place Command •Crate Training •Potty Training •Waiting for Food •Waiting at Thresholds (Doors, Car, Crate, etc.) •Appropriate and Polite Play with Other Dogs We will also focus on any minor behavior issues, such as: •Jumping, Nipping, Mouthing •Excessive Barking •Counter-Surfing •Leash Biting/Chewing

My dog has been coming to The Country Canine for daycare, boarding and training since she was just a few months old, which was an advantage, because she grew up with the steady training, guidance and companionship that Erin gave her. But, she has learned a lot here, and Erin has helped her grow into an obedient young lady. The Country Canine is is her second favourite place to be in this world and enjoys learning new commands and game. Even before I've turned the car into Erin's driveway, Java can barely contain her excitement at the day ahead of her at the Canine Country Training. The dogs all seem to love Erin too! I certainly recommend Erin as a responsible and loving dog carer and her excellent training methods to everyone.

I have been taking Murphy to The Country Canine two days a week since September 2022. It was very apparent right from the first day of doggie daycare that Erin loves dogs and takes caring for them very seriously. She is extremely flexible and responsive to her clients' needs. Her location has access to lots of land and is an ideal spot for any type of dog. She is also very helpful suggesting local pet supply stores and providing training tips. It is without hesitation that I recommend Erin to care for your pet. She will love them as if they were her own.

Through dogs I have known Erin for over 10 years. She is a kind positive person who is a very experienced and knowledgeable dog handler and trainer. Her grooming skills are the best, and she is one of the few people who I trust to care for my dog when I need to travel without him. Erin sends updates, photos and videos to let me know how things are going. I feel a bit guilty picking my dog up once I'm home because he has such a great time with Erin and her pack while he is there. I highly recommend Erin!
