CPDT iP, Experienced, Flexible

Pet care experience

Hello there! You know my name and other basic details, so let’s dive right in. I am a young professional working towards 2 K9 professional certifications (CPDT-KA, IAABC). My job allows me to work from home full-time; thanks to this I can meet the needs of YOUR schedule. I have experience with special needs dogs and those with behavioral challenges (this includes aggression, please contact to discuss.) I have owned and trained many puppies, and am happy to care for yours. To protect the safety of my dog, I require a meeting with both of us prior to any services (read more about Kova below.) When working with me you can expect complete transparency, detailed updates (upon request), and respect for your lifestyle and expectations. BOARDING & DAYCARE: - I provide an orthopedic dog bed, bones and chews, bowls etc. to all guests. - Food MUST be prepared and sent with dog… Refrigerated, frozen, and special needs diets can be accommodated. - All dogs will get a bath and brush-down before coming home (free of charge). Let me know if skin sensitivities! MY DOG : Kova is in the final stages of service dog training. He works for me. As such he will always be present - this includes house sitting. My disability is well managed and will not affect your dogs experience outside of Kova being an ever-present playmate.

Erin is a dedicated dog-trainer who knows how to enforce good behavior while also letting dogs play in a safe, well-observed environment. She is full of knowledge and loves to share training tips, from service dog how-to’s to caring for a first time puppy! I got a puppy recently and she has been my go to for any advice to ensure I raise him well and set him up for success. Her service dog, Kova, is a gentle giant who can play tenderly around young children and has proven himself able to act calmly in multi-dog situations. Structure, positive reinforcement, and consistency is key in her teachings. I recommend her to anyone near her in the area - your dog will be in safe hands and wonderfully cared for!

Safety, trust & environment

SAFETY, TRUST, & ENVIRONMENT: Important section, please read through. I know it is a lot but the safety of your dog, my dog, and myself is a priority. I will only house or walk dogs from the same household at once (in addition to my service dog.) No exceptions. Dogs will always be fed separately. I provide hard and soft chews which will also be given separately. Any history of resource guarding or food aggression should be discussed in advance. I “enforce” (I’m not mean I promise) basic manners and obedience. Again, this is for the comfort and safety of your dog, my dog, and myself. We are talking bare-bones stuff (wait for me to put the food down, do not rush at the door, stay out of the kitchen.) We will go over this before any services so that I don’t interfere with previous training or expect too much from your pup. No fenced yard. Appropriate tools for walking must be provided to me upon drop-off (effective collar or harness, and leash.) A walk with me and my K9 is required before drop-off. I reserve the right to ask for additional tools be provided, or to refuse service if your dog presents a serious hazard during this walk or at any point during their stay. Please reach out with questions about this! I will not attend the dog park with your dog unless we have met there previously (happy to set this up with you.) In addition I require a dog to have solid recall (come when called) OR you can provide me with an e-collar or longline (of more than 20ft.) I understand this is a lot and am happy to explain why I have so many requirements during a meeting.

A typical day

EXERCISE & ENGAGEMENT: I’m very focused on engaging your dog in whatever way works for them. Frisbee sprints may exhaust one dog, another may need three mile runs (and I can do either.) We play hard in my home between exercises, and I usually fill walks with training opportunities to engage their minds (with your agreement.) As an idea of how my own dog and I live : we either run 2.5-3 miles in the morning, or I take him to an off-leash park for sprints and socialization in the evening. Kova relaxes on his orthopedic bed (there will be an extra for your dog,) or the couch while I work. We break up the day with several training & play sessions, and potty breaks every couple hours. Kova does sleep with me, and can share the bed, but I am able to enforce any furniture rules you request for your dog.

SCHEDULE : I work from home and otherwise have no set commitments. Living with my own high-energy working K9 means I am constantly engaged and active with the dogs. During work hours we frequently break to train, play, and go outside (people need sunshine too!)
