Pet care experience
From the time I was born, I’ve never lived without dogs, and never plan to! I have a lifetime of experience caring for and entertaining our four legged friends. I understand that each dog is unique and I easily adjust to their individual comfort and needs. When you’re away, it’s my goal to make sure that your pup has as much fun as possible to distract from your absence. I have years of animal husbandry and veterinary experience under my belt. A dog specific first aid kit is with me at all times, both on outdoor adventures and in home. I treat all animals like they are one of my own and ensure they are happy and healthy while you are away. As a kid, I never watched anything other than Animal Planet and dreamed of becoming a wildlife conservationist like Steve Irwin. Today, not much has changed, although I have gained a lot more professional experience. Since starting college, I have worked as a veterinary technician for Last Chance Animal Rescue in Waldorf, Maryland, and Peachtree Animal Hospital in Poolesville, Maryland. I have also volunteered at the Humane Society of Charles County. Through these experiences I have been exposed to countless different fuzzy personalities. Under the supervision of certified dog trainers, I have also learned positive reinforcement training techniques and studied dog behavior. With experience I have found that proper mental and physical exercise are the most important factors when it comes to canine health, and I strive to meet the demands of every dog I come across. I also have extensive professional and personal experience with cats, birds, ferrets, fish, reptiles, arachnids, domestic fowl, goats, pigs, and horses!
Reviews
This was the first time Erin cared for my cats. Erin was so conscientious and kind to my kitties. I will definitely ask her back.
Erin went above and beyond. Thank you
Erin did an outstanding job taking care of our kitty and chickens while we were away. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter. This was my first time using Rover and it was a great experience!
Erin did a great job with our fur baby for a drop in visit. She followed our instructions perfectly. We had a very happy doggo when we returned home. Will definitely rebook!

I know that a change in routine can be jarring for your pet, so I always use a calm and patient approach when meeting new clients. I’m happy to provide my own treats that align with your pet’s diet to help strengthen our relationship and ease the stress they may have. The utmost care is taken while I am in your home — I always triple check that doors and gates are closed, collars and harnesses have a proper fit, and food/water/medication instructions are accurately followed!

Information Erin B. would like to know about your pet
I use positive reinforcement with all of my clients to establish a secure and healthy bond, so I always ask what allergies your dog might have, if they are on a diet, and whether or not it is acceptable for them to receive treats. Any potential behavioral challenges are always good to know ahead of time so that I can properly plan my visit around your dog’s individual needs — resource guarding, dog aggression or reactivity, high prey drive, fear of men, etc.
A typical day
I believe that mental exercise is just as important as physical exercise! When I do drop-ins, I make sure that your pup or kitty gets ample, high quality play time to really tire out their busy minds and relieve any stress they might have while you’re away. On walks, I like to explore places that your pup might not frequent often so that they can experience something new.
