Hi! I'm Erin. I’m new to Jackson, but I’m certainly not new to dogs! I have about 7 years of experience volunteering at shelters in Chicagoland with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I just started volunteering at the shelter here as well. Additionally, I grew up with dogs my entire life and in the past few years have fostered several. In 2016, I adopted a pitbull, Rex, who was the absolute love of my life until he passed away unexpectedly after surgery. Last summer, I rescued my new boy, Congo. Rex had some reactivity issues and Congo is fearful, so between them and the shelter dogs I've worked with, I have vast experience with dogs with these kinds of special needs. My passion is for the bullies, but I truly would love any opportunity to hang out with any dog on my time off from teaching this summer. I am comfortable with all breeds and just love the company of dogs in general. I am a compassionate person who believes strongly in positive reinforcement and will provide all of the patience your pup needs. I’m off until the end of August, so my availability right now is wide open! Once school starts back up, I’ll be mostly available in weekends and breaks. Though I don’t offer boarding at this time, I will certainly treat your dog as my own and respect your home. Happy to provide references.
