Pet care experience
Dogs have always been a part of my daily life, and over the years I have taken care of (and lived with) a senior dog, two puppies, a rabbit, a cat, and hamsters. My enthusiasm for four-legged friends means I'm committed to giving your pet the best care possible. As a pet owner, I'm well acquainted with all aspects of care, including feeding, walking, play, grooming, and medication administration. I have a lot of experience with dogs of every age, and know the rigors of young dog training firsthand. I am a current owner of a 1 year old cocker spaniel and a 2 year old house rabbit, and know the intricacies of their diet, care, and sensitivities inside and out. I am also a tennis player and a runner, so let me know if your dog enjoys going for a run instead of a walk! I have a innate understanding of dog and cat body language, and have taken dogs of many personalities and sizes for walks over the years. I'm gentle, friendly, and outgoing with animals, very detail oriented, and enjoy engaging with all pet personality types!

Erika is super nice. We have one super friendly dog and one dog with food aggression and Erika did great. The dogs loved her and even the cat came out to say hello during one of her visits. Highly recommend!
Erika did a wonderful job pet sitting in our home for our two cats and two dogs. During the meet and greet, our pets were immediately comfortable with her. She kept us updated daily with messages and pictures. She even went above and beyond, coming back on short notice to feed them dinner when our return home was unexpectedly delayed by a few hours. We would definitely have Erika pet sit again when we go out of town if she is available.

I always make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible by keeping my body language and voice calm, but firm. I know every dog and cat reacts differently to having a new person care for them, and I pay close attention to their body language and cues as I get to know them.

I think temperament, special needs, and general behavior towards other people/dogs is extremely important. When walking a dog, I need to know what to expect from them should we run into other dogs and their owners while out and about.
A typical day
When caring for a dog that needs a lot of stimulation, I like to play games or integrate short training sessions during my visits, as well as go on walks. Since I run as a hobby, I would also love to run with your dog! Running helps dogs get out a lot of excess energy and can be a great addition to walks. If your dog is more relaxed, I am also happy to spoil them with scratches and belly rubs.
