Every Dog Deserves to go on a Walk!

Pet care experience

There has never been a point in my life where I haven't had a dog or cat in my house. When I was 10 years old my family moved to the farm we live on now and expanded the herd. I currently have two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Rottweiler. Both big baby’s who love to spend lots of time outside! We also own two cats, both who came in as feral strays but turned into house cats after a bit of love and patience! We also have a few horses who live out their days on the property enjoying their retirement.

Erika is an amazing pet sitter! She spent 15 days with our boys while we were out of the country! She kept us updated on them and they were happy, safe and healthy when we got home! Couldn't have asked for more! They cant wait for her to come back and watch them again! We will definitely use Erika in the future!

Erika has been nothing but amazing! She takes the stress away of having someone take care of you dog due the constant communication, knowledge, and experience she has towards animals. Erika is always quick to respond and has been very flexible especially when I am in a pinch! I would recommend her to anyone!!

Safety, trust & environment

While I would love to have your pups over at my house, I cannot accept boarding requests but will update in the future if things become available. When I’m my clients home I keep watch for any signs that the dog(s) may be stressed and/or uncomfortable. If they are, I immediately look for ways to resolve this. Playing calming music, playing with toys, going for walks, or treat games are my favorite ways to help any upset pup! I also don't like to leave any dog alone for long periods of time. I make it my mission to only be gone for 4 hours at max if I have to run errands or be in class.

Information Erika N. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any sort of aggression tendencies. For example: - Nipping its housemate - Food possessiveness - Toy possessiveness - Reactivity to the doorbell or noises outside - Is your dog reactive on walks? Many of these traits are very normal in dogs but for the safety of your dog and myself it is imperative I'm made aware of these behaviors ahead of time. I’d also like to be made aware of your daily schedule with the dog/dogs. When do you take them out in the morning, when do bring them in at night. How long do you keep them outside for? What time are their walks at? Many dogs experience separation anxiety and stress when having an unfamiliar person in their home. I would highly encourage having your dog meet me ahead of time before we book a date so it can be introduced to me a calm and familiar environment.

A typical day

I understand that similarly to people, dogs also have boundaries. Not every dog likes the same things. With that in mind I really like to understand what your animals are comfortable with while watching or staying with them! If your dog is high energy then I'll make sure I find ways to use it up! Whether that's treat games, going on walks or play time I'll make sure your pup is getting what they need to be satisfied! With regard to the owners instructions of course, I like to explore the local parks, walking trails or neighborhoods. As a retired track & field college athlete I'm always looking for long/short walks or jogs!

At the moment I'm pursing my education at NKU's Chase College of Law so I have class from 9-12 Monday-Friday. Other than that, I spend my free time at home reading and writing. I really enjoy going to walks/runs on my study break and I'm a retired college track and field athlete so I'm always looking to get out and get moving with the dogs (or the occasional cat :)!
