Animals are my link to paradise!
Pet care experience
I grew up in a family that used to breed Dobermans and also loved having a multitude of somewhat exotic animals as pets. We always had a minimum of 2 dogs along with other pets like fish, frogs, ducks, chickens, hamsters, rabbits, and turtles. My passion for animals started very early. It's more than a passion actually, it's a need in my life! I was given my first turtle as a pet when I was 10 and I loved it so much that I've always had one since. I also got my first cat at that age too. That cat lived to be 22 years old, which is rare! I took the best care of him. My current turtle is an Ornate box tortoise that I got as a captive bred when she was the size of a half dollar coin. I've kept her healthy & happy for many years and she's still thriving! Besides my turtle, I also have a miniature panther (a.k.a. a black cat) who is a sweetheart, but also an energetic handful. Being highly observant of an animals needs through their behavior is definitely a skill I have developed. I feel this is important to have especially when caring for pets that I am not familiar with. I love all animals and love learning random facts about them. It is because of that, I have become quite knowledgeable on how to train or care for many different kinds. I can provide any type of service for your fur baby within your home per your instructions. I've done and seen most of it all and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
Reviews
Erika was so kind and caring with my fur baby. She followed all of the instructions that I entered in the Rover app. My fur baby was a little shy but Erika was patient and spoiled her with treats and love 🐾 She sent updates and adorable pictures. I would give her more than five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟because she even said she would water the plants, bring in the mail, was punctual, had great communication skills, and was very clean. If you are looking for a responsible adult that will care for your fur baby like their own then you should check to see if Erika is available. 🐾

Erika is an amazing cat sitter. Before the job even started (just days before we were set to leave town), one of my cats came down with a surprise eye infection, and Erika was so flexible and accommodating. She went the extra mile and worked with me to make a new plan and schedule, and I was still able to leave for part of my trip. She was very adaptable to my Fiona’s quirks and shyness, and was able to administer her meds. She played with Sophie and gave her scritches when she wanted some. She also checked on my plants and watered them when they started to look thirsty. I’m so very grateful to her taking such good care of my fur babies and my plants. I will definitely book with her the next time I need a sitter!

She was very sweet to our boy and willing to learn how to give a new medication beforehand so that everyone was comfortable. Would love to have Erika back to love on Simon again!

Erika is amazing! We have her check in on our doggies multiple times a week and she is always super patient with them. They can be a little crazy at times and she never minds it! My favorite part is reading their rover report cards when she leaves because they are always so detailed and funny!! Thank you Erika!

If your fur baby stays with me, I would keep the same schedule and routine your pet is used to in their daily care. Your pet will have access to freely roam a small fenced backyard too. I prefer to stay and supervise them when in the yard to make sure they are going potty normally. Otherwise we would go on walks in the surrounding neighborhood that is very dog friendly with multiple pet waste stations. The majority of your pets time would be spent indoors with me all day with exception to night time. My cat usually has free reign of the house since he is indoor only. However, for the protection of both our pets I would not allow contact between the animals. The cat would stay on the top floor while your pet would have free reign of the 2nd floor. For this reason, your pet would not be able to sleep with me at night since they need to stay on the 2nd floor. To keep your pet more at ease at night, I do leave some low lights and a radio with classical music on so they are not disturbed by outside noises. For stays in your home, I would still keep the same schedule and routine your pet is used to while remaining clean and quiet. I do my best to leave as minimal a footprint as possible.

Information Erika M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know what special needs your dog may have so I can do my best to accommodate. No matter how odd or quirky the request is, I absolutely understand and am willing to try to replicate any behaviors you do to keep your pet happy! At minimum, I would also need to know if your pet is friendly or afraid of other humans and animals.
A typical day
We would definitely have tv snuggle time most of the time! Lots of play time and definitely walks for potty and exercise time as needed/requested.

Availability
I am available to do multiple walks or drop-ins throughout the week and weekend. If I am boarding or house sitting, I still do walks/drop-ins, however, I do limit my usual availability and don't take on new clients for that time frame so I can spend more time with the longer care pet.
