Dog Boarding & Daycare, Garden Home

Pet care experience

I have been a dog lover my whole life! Over the last 12 years, I’ve raised my Jack Russell Chihuahua mix from puppy to healthy senior. I am in my mid thirties and purchased my first home in West Side Costa Mesa two years ago. And like most millennials, I bought the house with a yard for my dog! I work from home in the tech industry, which allows me to spend all day with your pups, giving them attention throughout the day, taking them for regular walks and potty breaks, and tending to their needs. I live on a quiet block with a peaceful enclosed backyard. I would love to host your fur babies!

Erika is my first choice when watching my Pitbull while I am away. He is sometimes a wild card and she is always very aware of his quirks and makes sure to avoid any situation that can trigger him. She sends me a ton of pictures and videos so I know how things are going which is so comforting. She gives him so much love. Her home is so great for dogs, she has an amazing backyard that my dog loves, he can sunbathe, go on snifaris and do his business whenever he wants. Her dog Snap and my dog get really well too and I always feel like having another dog makes my dog more comfortable while he is away from home. She has had to help me while my dog was recovering from surgery so has had to administer medicine and follow strict instructions for caring for him. I’d recommend her to watch anyones pups because of how diligent and loving she is with every dog she’s around.

I was really nervous to leave my pup for the first time with someone new, but Erika was a game changer. Her attentiveness and genuine care put me at ease from the get go- right from our first conversations she showed that she truly cares about a premium level of hospitality for dogs under her supervision (since she is also a dog mom herself). My dog and hers met prior to my trip so they could get acclimated and they ended up being the best of playmates! She would regularly send me videos of them playing in the backyard, on walks, lounging and looking so comfy and at peace at her home, which made me SO SO happy he was in good hands. No doubt will be using Erika again!!

Erika is the best pet sitter for my shy/timid fur baby. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pet. She’s so attentive with her and always giving me updates how she’s doing. I’m always getting pictures. Erika has a cute well behaved dog and gets along with my dog. Her home is quiet, the yard and garden is peaceful, and my pup always feels right at home in her care! Nothing but great reviews.

Each pet’s care is unique! Whether that is walking them alone, specific dietary needs, or toys that are off limit. I work closely with you and your pet to tailor to their needs, and ensure a happy and comfortable stay. I always suggest a meet and greet prior to first stay, so we can review your expectations, learn more about how to best communicate with your pet, and ensure we are on the same page for care needs.

Information Erika H. would like to know about your pet

Need to discuss any special needs or behaviors, and confirm they will get along with my senior dog, a 20 pound Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix. I always recommend a meet and greet prior to introduce the dogs, go over their care requirements, feeding and bathroom habits, what toys they can play with, and ensure you and your fur baby feels safe and comfortable in my care.

A typical day

We typically start our morning with breakfast, and a loop around the block for pee and poop. Then some play time with a bone or stuffed toy (my favorite). Then I’ll snooze either in my dog bed, or on the couch, or in the sunshine in the backyard. Then another midday day loop, and again in the evening time. Fairview Park is a 3 minute drive if we want to explore the park.

Availability

Full time work from home, flexible schedule that allows for multiple potty breaks and walks. My dog usually walks 3 times a day (15 min each), which I could easily incorporate an additional dog to the walks. The back door is kept open weather permitting for dogs to sniff, sunbathe, and explore.
