Stunning country walks for your dog
Pet care experience
I’ve always had dogs and also looked after dogs of all ages owned by friends and neighbours. My wife, Susan, and I lost our beloved terrier last year and we are not ready to adopt another, but we love having dogs around us, taking them on walks in the Mendip hills and cuddling them in the evenings.

Erika is a wonderful dog host, can’t be bettered! She looked after our 2 lively boys as if they were her own, ensuring they settled at night and giving them the best of times. Their walks were frequent and very varied, she even managed to tire them out - unknown before! They had 2 showers and came home clean and happy.
Erika was so good with Lenny, he had lots of nice walks and we received a lot of updates throughout his stay. Len felt right at home and I’m sure he would love to be back!
Erika was a fantastic carer for Suki. It was the first time we had used Erika and she looked after our boxer for 2 nights. They were caring, attentive and enthusiastic, giving her long country walks and accomodating in ensuring she felt safe and comfortable with them. Lots of picture updates made sure we knew Suki was having the time of her life. Will definitely use again xxx
Re Erika Baker. I have known Erika for about twenty years, as a neighbour and as a friend. I have always found her to be utterly reliable, straightforward and completely trustworthy in every way. When we were living in the same village, we often went on dog walks together. Erika was good company and was always considerate of my dog. When out walking, she always remained aware of her surrounds. Thus if there were small children running around, she would put her dog on a lead or if there were animals in the vicinity, if necessary, she would do so too (vets recommend putting your dog on a lead if there are other dogs around who are on leads in case the other dog is nervous; near sheep, of which there are many on Mendip, it was a no-brainer). Erika is always sensitive to the needs of our dog. Needing to keep her weight down, we had stopped giving ours treats when out walking. Erika would not give ours a treat without first asking us if she may do so. In this way, I was confident that when the occasion arose where we left our dog with her, Erika would care for Poppy in all the ways that we would prefer. Such occasions have proved very successful. I would have no hesitation recommending Erika as a dog sitter.

We have a small fenced and secure garden. Opposite the house is a large green for morning and evening walks, and I take dogs on midday walks in the Mendip hills. I’m happy to discuss your dog’s preferred sleeping arrangements to ensure that your furry friend is as settled as possible.

Information Erika B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog can be off the lead and if he or she can be trusted around livestock we might come across on walks. Tell me what your dog is scared off, how the dog reacts when scared and what the best way of managing this is for your dog. What treats are allowed, what foods must be avoided? The more information you can give me, the better prepared I will be and the more enjoyable your dog’s stay here will be for him or her.
A typical day
I walk your dog on the green opposite our house before giving them their breakfast. Depending on what your dog likes, I take him or her on walks on the beach, along the local lake, or in the Mendip hills in the middle of the day, for at least 30 minutes and up to 90 minutes. Dogs with good recall can walk off the lead to run and play. Bring your dog’s favourite toys and tell me what he or she likes to do! I’ll take them on an other walk on the green in the afternoon and before bedtime.
