With my personal rescue husky, I learned about a lot of different needs. Loki came to me with very little training, and we worked hard to overcome his anxiety and resource-guarding. Towards the end of his life, he struggled with pain and regressed into old habits. Every dog is unique and needs a personalised approach. A typical day with my regular hyperactive puppy is a few minutes of hello pets, getting kitted out in her harness and running lead. Together we usually run about 4-5kms. Our cooldown is her time for sniffing and potty. Getting home is water and rest time! My older King Cavalier Spaniel is a bit slower-paced. As he is deaf, a walk usually starts with a gentle hello head rub. On Saturdays, we like to take in the local Farmer's Market, where he can say hi to other dogs, sniff new places and gets lots of pets and attention. Other walks are nice easy sniffing walks around the neighbourhood.
