Doctor of Veterinary Med. Student

Pet care experience

I am currently a second year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona and have extensive experience with many different kinds of animals with varying health statuses and of varying dispositions. Prior to relocating to Southern California for veterinary school, I worked at a horse rescue, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Hawaiian Humane Society. I also currently work with mobile clinics providing free-of-charge veterinary health checks, vaccines, and microchipping for underserved areas of Los Angeles where pets would otherwise go without medical care. I am diligent, responsible, patient, and compassionate, and I treat all animals as if they were my own pets! I have been petsitting for more than 20 years and have experience caring for animals with special health concerns and have also cared for elderly pets who required medication administration, which is a skill that I can offer my clients. Additionally, I have worked to fix specific behavior issues with my clients' pets when asked, such as leash-training and socialization. Your pet(s) will be in my very capable hands and will love me so much that it will be like they, too, are on vacation! You can rest assured that I will be able to take care of your pet(s) even if they are ill or encounter a problem.

Erika is much more than just a true animal lover; she is also very well educated about animals and is currently a veterinary student! With Erika, I was always confident that my dog and cat would be treated as if they were her own beloved pets. VERY highly recommended!!!

Erika took care of my elderly dog many times, and he was also *perhaps* a somewhat spoiled dog! (Which means he was a bit difficult to please!) He reveled in her attentions. She is responsible, conscientious, and trust-worthy. She is also a current Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student, so I feel very confident in her ability to take care of my animals, no matter what the situation. This differentiates her from other pet-sitters, because she actually has medical knowledge that can help save your pets in an emergency. My elderly dog has now passed on to the great grassy field in the sky, but I would not hesitate to have her take care of my current or future fur-babies. I strongly recommend that you hire Erika for all of your pet care needs.

Erika was the pet sitter for my very feisty, territorial older cat. Not a dog I know but she sort of acted like a dog. Erika was very patient knowing that it would take time for Amelia to build up if not trust at least tolerance. It was very obvious that when I returned from a trip that Amelia had been well cared for, the food dish was clean and filled with food, the water bowl was full and fresh and her bathroom was clean. Yes my cat had her own bathroom. Don't judge. LOL. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Erika to pet sit for any age animal and feel confident that they would be treated with the same care and attention as her own pets.

Aloha To All those whom are considering Erika! This is coming from first hand experience that I had with her. I needed help bathing and clipping my cat's nails. We all know, baths are NOT a cats favorite thing to do and my cat was no exception. She would just scream and try her hardest to get away and her nails became dangerous claws. Erika had a very special nack for calming her down just by talking to her with a soothing voice and stroking her head. She was able to get my cat to sit still and calm down. She then took over and I noticed how she held her. She wrapped her in a towel and held her to her chest and I noticed the look in my cat's eyes went from bugged out to half closed as though she was in the hands of an angel. She took her in to clip her nails and she talked to her the whole time. My cat was went from wild to peaceful and very receptive instantly! Long story short, Consider no more! You are looking at one of the most intuitive, compassionate, knowledgable pet lover you can have.
