I have been around dogs off and on for the past 30 years. I have had experience with breeds such as Jack Russell Terriers, Golden Retrievers, Dachshunds, etc. Over the years through reading, training my own dogs, and general exposure I have to come to get a higher understanding of dogs and their behavior. My personality is well-suited to handle dogs as I’m patient and firm. I’ve learned the important fact that you need to be the alpha in various ways such as building trust, consistent interaction, and positive reinforcement. I really enjoy the mutually beneficial nature of dog walking. It’s an activity that not only stimulates the dog physically and mentally but the walker as well. I can’t think of a day better spent then a long walk through a park with a dog.
