Some common precautions: clean environment, making sure nothing is out of the norm on the ground, choking hazards are stored away properly, no food is accessible on counters etc., no access to toxic foods (onions, chocolate, grapes, peanut butter with xylitol etc.) or other toxic items such as medications, access to water (and dog food if requested by owner), secured leash/collar/harness when walking outside, collar off if in their crate, any specific notes from owner written out, and lots of love!
