Hi! I'm Erica and I currently work as a receptionist in a busy vet setting. My last job was working full time in a group home with young adults with developmental disabilities. While helping others is one passion of mine, animals are my other love! I have grown up with dogs my entire life. My dog Zoe passed away when she was 16 years old and she really taught me what love towards animals is like. I have had experience with all ages and a variety of breeds. From Dachshunds to Bernese Mountain Dogs, I love them all (even cats.) I have taken care of my previous roommates dogs in the past and I have fostered before. Right now I have a few clients I see weekly. As for my own pets, Bessie is my "daughter" who is a 6 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was rescued back in 2019. She was a very nervous girl when we adopted her. She was a stray found in Tennessee who had recently had puppies, and we assume she was dumped. She is truly part of the family now and she is such a huge part of my heart. I know the importance of trusting a sitter in your own home with your own family. I pride myself on being patient, especially with nervous dogs who don't do well with other people or in boarding. I feel as though some sitters don't take into consideration watching body language and other behaviors that are very telling in cats and dogs. I have had dogs and cats that will stay away from me for about 2 or 3 visits, and slowly are able to warm up to me and when the trust is built the reward is so wonderful. I am happy to provide references, or any other questions that may arise before I watch your pet!
