My husband and I were new to the greater Dallas area and we were trying to find a well-reviewed, affordable and close place to board our 3 year old lab/hound/Vizsla mix while we went on vacation. Some of our friends told us about Rover and when we searched for our area, Erica was the very first result with over 200 reviews that were all amazing! We contacted her to see if we could ...

Erica and her family are wonderful and kind. They have been taking care of my 8 week old heeler mix. He absolutely loves them and all the other dogs there. Very attentive to your dog and his/her needs, very responsive, and really know there dog stuff. Super helpful taking care of him while we both work. Would recommend to anyone.

When Erica watches your pet

We have a pool that we regularly use to let our water dogs have fun and we also teach most of our guest pups how to swim or introduce them to the pool so they do not have a fear. We are ALWAYS outside when we have dogs in the backyard. No one is ever alone when it is potty/swim and play time.

The exception to this rule is with our Dogs that aren’t designed for swimming include “top heavy” breeds – those with large chests and small hindquarters. Short muzzled dogs, including the brachycephalic breeds, and dogs with very short legs also don’t do well in water.
For example, bulldogs, dachshunds and boxers are generally not able to stay afloat. Brachy breeds like the pug tend to tire easily due to the abnormal structure of their respiratory organs.
Many small dogs can be very good swimmers, but because they get chilled easily and tend to be frightened in the water, they don’t always do so well.
We do not want to create a fear of water and if there are those breeds that have been on the water and have their own fitted life-jackets, we encourage owners to bring them and do a test swim with us in the water.
