Often referred to as the 'bleeding heart' of my family, I was always the child sneaking in strays or begging to rescue any animal in need. To no ones surprise, I started my animal care career at a local kennel at age 19 and within two years moved on to being a veterinary assistant at a local animal hospital. I have since taken a desk job during the week but continue to work at the vets office on weekends. Due to my position as a veterinary assistant (and my tendency to take in strays), I also have experience with exotic animals. From Cockatoos to Turtles, Chickens to guinea pigs, I have seen and cared for them all. Our animals are members of our family and whether furry, feathered, or scaled, I enjoy building bonds and ensuring that they are happy, healthy and well cared for.
