I’ve have been around animals my whole life, had many dogs of all sizes, cats, 12 ducks not once but TWICE, fish, hamsters, the list can go on and on. I have always got along with any animal I have ever met to the point where it’s kinda funny to my friends and family. I had a roommate that actually got mad at me because his cat spent all day waiting by my room for me to get home and then would spend all night with me. The trick is you gotta treat them like a little person, speak with them, show them that you are harmless and helpful, make them feel secure and happy, keep them on their scheduled routine so it’s just like a normal day to them. The most important thing is to pay attention to their signs too! Can’t sit down? Trouble getting used to new environment? we go for a walk and return, repeat returning to the same location helps build happy memories! I’m an artistic/creative type so I’m always trying to putting myself in the shoes of another person to experience how they may see things, I’ll put myself in the paws of your pupper and give them the attention they deserve.
