Welcome to our doggy haven in the Santa Cruz mountains! I love dogs and have 25 years of experience in providing exceptional care for furry friends. At our 5-acre retreat nestled among towering redwoods, your beloved pups will find themselves in doggy paradise. The five acre yard is FULLY FENCED, one long fence around five acres with our house in the middle. I grew up on a ranch with 7 dogs, two cats and a bunch of goats/sheep and chickens. As a kid the dogs and goats were my responsibility, and I loved it. As an adult our friends and family often ask us to watch their dogs, since we have so much space here. I love caring for dogs and your dog will be treated like a member of the family. I know that your canine companion is your baby, and that is how I view my dogs as well. I will treat your doggy as a beloved member of our family. Pups have the freedom to sprint around to their hearts content, through a wide variety of landscapes and obstacles. Old growth redwood stumps, open meadows, slopes and flat, your dog will not get bored here. I have found that dogs tend to get along great with each other here, probably because there is so much fun space to explore together. With my extensive knowledge of dog behavior and needs, your four-legged companions will receive the utmost attention, affection, and specialized care. Whether it's interactive playtime, stimulating mental exercises, or peaceful snuggles, I tailor each experience to suit your dog's unique personality and preferences. Rest easy knowing your dogs are in capable hands. I am dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all guests. Eric’s place is as billed: a big fenced property with lots of room to run with his or other visiting dogs who sleep together inside at night. He accommodated our shepherd pup who loved herding and running free with new friends vs being kenneled. Eric handled meds and an unexpected issue without any trouble. He provided regular updates and photos. Our pup came home tired and happy and would love to return. Definitely recommend meeting Eric at the mailboxes, which he kindly offers, as his place is a bit off the beaten path.
We decided to use Eric again for our pup Mamacita. Once again, Eric was super good at communicating and sent lots of pictures. He allows for our pup to be outside for most if not all of the day. Mama always comes home super tired after playing with her friends and roaming on his beautiful property. We’ll always choose Eric to watch Mamacita!
My bf and I had to leave for the weekend and needed a place for our dog to stay. Eric was perfect for our dog Mamacita. He attended to all her needs, allowed for her to roam on his fully fenced 5 acre property, and even let her chill on the couch. He updated me with pictures throughout the stay. Mama was very happy when we picked her up. We will for sure be having Eric watch Mamas again!

Our family dogs eat a diet of mostly boiled chicken breast, vegetables, and a little kibble. Your dog can have chicken breast and veggies as their main source of food, if you like, or we can feed them whatever food you prefer. I am experienced at giving injections because our corgi has arthritis issues which require Adequan injections.

A typical day
We will take walks on trails in the wilderness surrounding our house, and can stop and sniff all the dogs want. Inside our five acre fence line dogs can roam free and explore all the smells of wild bunnies and birds. If your dog likes playing fetch or hide-and-seek they will have a great time here. More mellow dogs will enjoy being allowed inside full time, or can chill on the deck and listen to the birds sing.

I have a flexible schedule and work from home, helping maintain our floral farm which provides bouquets to the public. I will be available to watch your pet full time, and you can expect pictures every day of your pet having a great time here. Our property is five fully fenced acres, with 6 foot tall fencing plus barbed wire. The perimeter of our fencing is several thousand linear feet. This means your dog can safely roam as much as they want, or as much as you’ll allow. Half of the property is a redwood forest with some giant ancient redwoods, and the other half is meadow. Your dog will be able to access their wild side, chasing lizards and bunnies, and smelling all the natural smells that come with the deep redwood forest. It is up to you how much outdoor time you want your dog to have here. Dogs will also be allowed in the house full time just like our family dogs.
