Pet care experience
We are attentive and conscientious petsitters with experience sitting for cats and dogs, we've even taken care of horses! We love that petsitting lets us spend time bonding with various animals. We enjoy giving your furry baby(ies) what they need which can be active playtime, long walks, pets, cuddles, and so much more. Since we both work remotely your pet(s) will get a lot of attention and care. We have gardening experience from Mel working on a farm and Eric's big backdoor garden, so we're also great with caring for indoor or outdoor plants. Eric fostered Cats and Dogs for 2 years and grew up with cats. Eric bought a home and renovated it, so he is also pretty handy and can notice issues before they become a big problem. Mel loves all animals but has a particular affinity for dogs. She has also lived with numerous cats over the years. Her experience as a live-in nanny instilled an attention to detail when caring for other's homes.

Eric & Melissa did a wonderful job of taking care of our two dogs. We came home to happy dogs, a tidy house, and they gave us regular updates on how the dogs were doing when we were out of town.
My two black labs (115lbs and 75lbs) can be quite a handful, to put it mildly. Eric and his partner Mel weren't bothered and took great care of my crazy zoo and home in my absence; I didn't feel like I needed to worry about a thing while I was out of town. I left them with a bull-in-a-china-shop 3yo lab who practices selective listening, a skittish,neurotic 12yo lab, and a cat who loudly reminds everyone all day every day that she's hungry again, despite having just eaten an hour ago - all of whom took to Eric & Mel's calm energy almost immediately. Having known Mel for over 15 years, I knew my pets were in great hands, as both she and Eric are completely responsible, reliable, competent, kind, trustworthy people. I'd highly recommend them for any pet sitting or house sitting needs.
Eric and Mel were wonderful house / pet sitters. They kept us in the loop about everything happening with our dog Louis, they were very respectful guests, and they left the place pristine. I would certainly recommend them.

Tell us about your pet's personality. Please share your general routine (eating times, walking time and length, how many hours they can be left alone) this helps us setup our schedule to match your pet's needs. Does your pet have any aggressive behavior with other dogs, kids, people, etc (it's ok if they do, we just want to know before the situation arises)? Plus let us know about other home care needs: plant watering, bringing in mail, taking our trash, etc.
A typical day
This depends and changes a lot based on your pet's needs, we're very flexible. We are active so if your dog likes long walks or hikes we'll be sure to keep that routine. But for some dogs shorter walks complimented with more rubs and cuddle time gives them the engagement they need (generally older dogs benefit from this). We're patient with puppies that like to take their time and go on smell journeys, we listen to let your dog as they communicate their needs. If we get some bad weather, we'll be sure to have extra indoor playtime to make up for the reduced outdoors time.

Availability
Petsitting allows us the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of working remotely and traveling. We both have always gotten so much joy from caring for and playing with the animals in our lives. Since our nomadic lifestyle means we can't make the commitment of pets right now, sitting is a fun way to connect with animals. We love getting to take long walks in the areas where we sit and enjoy the process of getting to know the personalities of the creatures we care for. Mel is interested in incorporating animal therapy into her practice in the future and is eager to continue to learn more about caring for animals of all kinds. We are very open to exploring a lot of new places, so we're willing to petsit all over the world, as long as there's reliable wifi.
