Fun Times Ahead with Eric (& Amy!)
Pet care experience
~**I am still available for drop-in play dates and walks during the week of Thanksgiving!**~ Hello! My name is Eric and I can't tell you how excited I am to look after your pup! I have been around dogs in some capacity most of my life. I had a cocker spaniel mix growing up (much love to Rascal) who loved a good racquetball. My last roommate and I lived together for 5+ years, and in that time I got to see his puppy Roscoe grow up. He worked a typical 9-5 job, so I was able to regularly help him out with walks and feeding. Personally, I was just happy to be able to have a happy presence around the house! But I will say I learned so much during those years regarding training and structure (and patience!) I met Amy June 2nd, 2019, at The Barking Lot in El Cajon. She was not one of the dogs on my "to-see" list, but my roommate mentioned seeing her on the website, and the rest is history. She is originally from Thailand (!) and was rescued thanks to Soi Dog Foundation. She is teaching quite a bit about patience and understanding. Amy, like many other rescue animals, carries past trauma that time will only heal; however, she is slowly opening up, and gets along well with other dogs. Rover works great for her as well in terms of getting much needed social interaction and playtime! Amy and I live in a house in North Park, complete with a fenced in yard. We walk 3-4 times a day, and like to swing by Morley Field or Grape Street Dog Parks a few times a week. With your dog, we will more than likely stick around the neighborhood, or maybe go on a hike, as there are unfortunately too many unknown factors at a dog park. Sometime the field space at North Park Community Park is available, which will work great as a place to play fetch. I also have one roommate that works from home about half the week, and she absolutely loves animals. However, I will be the only person responsible for the care of your dog, but she'll certainly help with all the scritches! I have several regularly occurring gigs in the hospitality and event world. These jobs can be of varying length, but if you have booked early enough, I will only accept work that gives me the opportunity to be back at my house in under 8 hours. We will of course discuss your dog, as every pet has slightly different needs. More often than not, I am home a majority of the day, only stepping out to run errands, exercise, etc. Should you have any concerns with this arrangement, please do not hesitate to reach out with any and all questions you have. If you are boarding your dog with me, I recommend we do the meet and greet in my home to see how they react to a new environment. However, we will first meet at the park around the corner to start on neutral territory. Once we get to my home, I will ask you to step out for a few minutes to give us both an idea of how your pet handles separation. Even if they've never exhibited anxious behavior, it is best to be sure. Looking forward to meeting you and your wonderful dog!
Reviews
I found Eric through my usual dog walker and he came highly recommended. I couldn't agree more - Eric was very attentive to my dog's needs, took the time to meet her and asked about her walking habits, and clearly did a great job. I always got prompt updates and felt very reassured that my dog was in very good hands. I would highly recommend Eric as well - he's very easy to work with, personable, and great with dogs. Thanks again Eric!
Did a great job walking my pup, who has separation anxiety.
Eric has been my next door neighbor for 4 or 5 years. He is one of the most honest, responsible and genuine people I know or have ever known. I haven't asked him to watch my dogs because I am retired and have family who owe me favors, however, he would be the first one I'd ask if the occasion should arise. Your pets will be in good hands with him.
Eric is a fantastic and extremely dependable dogsitter. I love my dog and it is hard to leave him with just anyone. However I know leaving him with Eric he will be loved, played with and cared for. Eric is so easy to communicate with and sends me daily updates and photos when I’m gone which is a huge plus!

Information Eric H. would like to know about your pet
What unusual quirks does your dog have? Do they REALLY hate skateboards, or will they lose their mind if they see a squirrel? Are they treat motivated, or food aggressive? Will they have significant separation anxiety when you're gone? All dogs are unique, and I want to make sure I understand who they are so I can be the best caretaker possible.
A typical day
You better believe we will go on some walks! I also have a fenced in yard that your pup can enjoy. When everyone is outside, I will always be present to supervise.
