Our pups stay with Enrique was great! Absolutely great outdoor area for Luna to run and play. Enrique would send several pictures throughout the day and provide updates on our pups stay. He was great to work with and addressed any of our questions/ concerns as this was our first time not only using rover but also our pups first stay for more than one night. We would absolutely recommend using Enrique and would use his services again in the future if needed.

Milo had an absolute blast at Enrique’s Barking Stick Resort. We loved that we received lot’s of photos of Milo and text messages about how he was doing. It was Milo’s first time being boarded and he loved being with Enrique and his dogs. I highly recommend Enrique and his wife to watch you beloved pooch. Book your stay today!

Enrique was a very good pet sitter. He was very responsive and answered every question I had. He sent me pictures and updates daily and I felt very comfortable with my dog staying with Enrique. I would definitely leave my dog with Enrique again.

Look no further for a sitter for your furry friend! Enrique was FANTASTIC!! From the beginning, he was very professional and you can tell he has put a lot of thought into making sure your fur baby is comfortable. HUGE backyard for playtime fun and I felt that my chocolate lab was very safe and secure. The drop-off and pick-up were very smooth and easy. Great communication while booking and while we were away. Enrique sent multiple photos per day which really put my nerves to rest and gave me a little shot of dopamine every time I saw Cassius' happy face. Cassius is looking forward to his next stay with Enrique and his new friends.

RESORT AMENITIES We have significantly invested in our home to make it as dog-proof as possible including the following features: - A large block-fenced yard with no vulnerable sections - Multiple separate secured zones inside and outside of the house which allow for private feeding times and quite space when needed - Many lovesac sactionals, outdoor furniture, dog begs, cold tiles, pillows, and towels for a top tier napping experience - Hard pavers and minimal space under exterior gates (i.e. dogs can't dig out) - An enclosed front courtyard (prevents any potential runners) - Minimal furniture, clutter, and loose items - Professionally cleaned home with natural dog-safe cleaners - Ring cameras at key areas of the house and yard to help monitor dog behavior PERSONALIZED CARE We do not have any kids, meaning our dogs are our kids. We treat our guests as extensions of our family. Either Neelam or I or both of us are always home to supervise and attend to our guests' needs. We have extensive experience with a variety of breeds, temperaments, and backgrounds. Albie & Remie were both rescues themselves so we understand first-hand the complex nature of dog behavior and communication. Each guest will receive personalized attention and care during their stay with us!

A typical day

FIRST HOURS In the first hour I like to allow the guests time to sniff and familiarize themselves with the yard and the inside on their own. Once comfortable we will start our first dedicated play session to get some early nervousness and energy out (if applicable). DAILY ROUTINE I work completely full time from home from which dogs provide a necessary and welcome distraction. You can rest assured that your dogs' needs will be attended to throughout their stay with us. My goal is to keep the guest comfortable and maintain the daily routine they are used to while offering more activities or quiet times as the guest seems to want. If your dog is super active they will have hours of activity each day. If your dog is older or just likes to lounge there is plenty of room for that. Albie & Remie are great co-hosts who can cater to either side of the spectrum: whether it's play-till-you-drop or hit-snooze-till-tomorrow. A number of friends have Fi Smart Collars and they have measured that their dog gets at least 60-120% more steps each day while staying over at the Barking Stick Resort. Here's what you can expect from a boarding or day care stay: - We prioritize keeping to the daily routine that our guest is used to from feeding schedules to morning/evening walks. - Guests will have plenty of activity opportunities during the cooler hours of the day during the summer and throughout the day during cooler months - Guests will have easy regular access to the bathroom during the day as I take a regular break each hour. For emergencies Albie is an effective communicator and will generally let me know when someone needs to go. - Guests will have a number of sleeping areas to choose from and a number of late night/early morning bathroom breaks during the night as needed - If you are OK with it, guests will be spoiled with peanut butter, oatmeal, and other treats from time to time ALBIE & REMIE Although the life-sized canvas portraits and their spoiled lives may suggest they are the true owners of the Resort, Albie & Remie are permanent members of the Resort that we rescued as puppies. They look forward to providing a play, nap, and bark partner to our guests during their stay. Albie is a Siberian Husky who compliments any guest who enjoys to sniff, wrestle, chase, and eat fine treats. Albie is extremely communicative and will let me know if anyone needs to pee or if the water is running low! Remie is a Heeler/Collie mix who compliments any guest who enjoys fetch, deep snoring sleeping sessions, and an abundance of food. Remie is a warm and attentive host who loves to be a companion to all kinds of guests! Albie & Remie are fully vaccinated and follow a regular vet check up schedule to ensure they are healthy to interact with our guests. We expect the same from any guests that stay with us. LAST HOUR In the last hour prior to handoff back to you I like to give the guests one last play time so that they get a little energy out before seeing their favorite person in the world. Happy to provide any feedback on guest behavior during the stay. If you like I offer a Dirt-&-Slobber-Free-Dog Guarantee as an add-on which ensures the guest is free of any significant mud or dirt before leaving the Resort. Depending on the guest and the dirtiness of the activities this could mean: a full bath, a thorough paw wipe down, a waterless shampoo freshen up, and/or a towel pat down in the day of or day prior to pickup.
