Emmett was able to walk my lab Riley on pretty short notice. He did an excellent job walking him down to a nearby dog park and wearing him out even in cold weather. He sent some pictures from the walk too. I will be calling Emmett next time I have to go out of town.

Emmett was available on short notice after our first rover sitter discovered he was allergic to our dogs. He was quick to respond and had a fair price. We never met Emmett, as he was out of town when we booked him. Instead, his sweet girlfriend Becca came to meet the dogs. We became frustrated quickly, however, as we were told initially that Emmett would be back in time to come to the house and meet the dogs before we had to leave, and that Becca could be there when we left. Emmett was not able to make it on time to meet the dogs before we left and Becca was not able to be there to introduce him- so my parents ended up having to stay at the house to greet him. We forewarned Emmett that the dogs were a handful and not to feel obligated to walk them. Our dogs walks are their chance to go out and explore and be free. We use harnesses and leashes to allow them their freedom while we walk. During Emmetts 4 night stay with our dogs, he took it upon himself to go out and purchase kong toys for our dogs (which we already had at the house), and gentle leaders for his convenience to walk the dogs. He didn't mention the purchases before they were made, and then asked us for reimbursement for the $116 dollars he spent on his own accord. I paid Emmett $50 for the kong toys that couldn't be returned, and he returned the leads to the store after I told him I disagreed with him making unnecessary purchases and asking for reimbursement. My parents stopped by the house every afternoon to let the dogs out and check on them. While the time stamps on the alarm appear to reflect that someone was at the house around the times they said they would be, my parents came to find two large piles of feces and urine in our adult dogs room one of the days, and questioned how long they had been left for. Emmett did check in and update us on how the dogs were doing while we were away. We hired someone to stay in our home with the dogs to make their lives as normal and stress free as possible while we were away. I felt, however, that our dogs were cared for how Emmett wanted to care for them, and not how we would have. I would recommend Emmett for someone with easy, manageable, convenient dogs. I will likely choose to book a different sitter in the future.
