While Emma kept my apartment clean and my pets alive, I cannot in good conscious recommend her services. Emma and I were on the same page about the importance of meeting up prior to a booking and I appreciated that she was up front about her lack of cat sitting on rover. But she seemed confident and reassuring that everything would be fine. Unlike every other sitter I’ve ever used on Rover, Emma did not send daily photo updates. While I had informed her my internet access would be limited and sometimes non existent I did not expect to have to ask for pictures of my pets. For a 2 week stay I think I received less photos than a different sitter did over 4 days. Given that this was my longest stay away ever it was a little nerve wrecking to not have updates when I had internet access. While we had agreed verbally that staying over every night was not required, I did expect some sort of schedule to be upheld for my pets feeding times. From what I can tell (based on the time stamps of my smart door lock) Emma did not do this and also left the pets alone for longer than they’ve ever been alone. I returned to find my cats have newly developed destructive behaviour (shredding toilet paper) which they didn’t have before. Research suggests this action is a result of loneliness and/or boredom… Lastly, damage occurred to my unit during Emma’s stay and once I realized the only option was to replace and reached out with this info, Emma rescinded her offer to pay for it. She stated that she only offered when she thought it was cheap. The damage was not quite enough to trigger Rover’s guarantee and I find myself out of pocket as a result.

Emma was great to work with and took excellent care of Simba. I won't hesitate to have her watch Simba again!
