I grew up with cats and a Pomeranian, but I always dreamed of having a giant dog to play with. As soon as I started grad school and had my own place I adopted a big dog. I've been working with my deaf American bulldog for four years now, so big dogs, dogs with a lot of personality, and dogs with special needs are my forte. Two of my favorite dogs I've worked with on Rover are a Great Dane/Lab mix and a Pomeranian, so I can definitely say I feel comfortable with any size dog. I care deeply about making sure any animals under my watch are safe and well loved, so play time and lots of cuddles are a must. If your dog needs long walks or runs, I can accommodate that for no extra charge. I'm also happy to work on basic obedience training during drop-in visits. Additionally, if you bathe your dog at home I can give Fido a quick wash and dry before you reunite. If you live in the Landover area, please let me know! Before I sit a dog, I need to know if they are child and dog friendly. This is in case we have any surprise encounters during walks, so I'm prepared for your dog's response. I would also appreciate any allergy information and dietary restrictions so I can make sure to give appropriate treats.
A typical day
If you're near Buffaloe Athletic Center, I'll take your pup (with your permission, of course) to the dog park there for fetch and playtime. Otherwise, we'll try to do at least a mile walk around your neighborhood. For dogs who need extra exercise, we'll go for a jog in your neighborhood or at the nearest park. If you'd like, I can also spend a portion of our time together working on basic obedience - sit, lay down, wait, and heel. For lots of dogs, mental stimulation is just as important as exercise.
