Country Bumpkin Extraordinaire

Pet care experience

I have grown up with a great variety of pets in my life that I have helped care for over the years; ferrets, chickens, guineafowl, bees, a donkey, alpacas, budgies, cats, and most importantly, dogs. Admittedly the hay day of most of these animals was whilst I was a child but I have still developed a unique patience and familiarity with a wide range of animals. My family has always had dogs growing up so but since starting my work as a sitter I have grown a lot in my understanding and appreciation for them. Over the years I have had the pleasure to get to know lots of interesting and wonderful personalities and breeds. With drop ins your pet will receive care specific to their individual personalities and your requests. If they love to play then they will enjoy rigorous games of fetch and tug-o-war. If they are a cuddly dog then they will get premium cuddles. Or if they simply enjoy distanced company then I will happily play along and give them the aloof company they desire. My pet walking cv ranges from dogs to alpacas, though admitted there are few other species in between. But let us focus on dogs for now. I hope to provide great exercise to suit your pet’s needs whilst in my care. It is worth mentioning that I cannot accept big dogs who are not trained on the lead. I am unable to accept aggressive or reactive dogs. I need to meet the dog prior to taking them into my care in order to fully assess whether they are suitable for me to look after. As you can see, I have a dog of my own. My dog is kept up to date with vaccinations, worming, flea and tick treatments and I expect the same of your dog. During a meet and greet I require evidence of their vaccination record in order to keep my pet safe. Obviously, your dog will have to be friendly with other dogs. If you have any questions about my dog then please feel free to ask. And lastly it should be noted that my house is a coach house (much like a flat but it is a house) with a small garden that is only appropriate for bathroom breaks or lounging out in the sunshine- I don’t have the space for your pet to properly run around. I am currently available full time to look after your pets, please refer to my calendar to see when I am booked up/unavailable to care for you dog. -I have a fenced garden which should keep your dog contained under normal circumstances. -Dogs will not be let off the lead during walks. -Dogs will be locked in my kitchen at night as it is my most dog proof-able room. All food will be put away, sides will be cleared of any hazard, cupboards will be taped shut. The kitchen is next to the bedroom so we are likely to listen out for any obvious signs of distress in the night.

Title: A Truly Caring and Reliable Dog Sitter! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot express enough how thrilled and satisfied I am with the exceptional care provided to my beloved fur baby by Emma - Lee. From the moment I entrusted her with my dog's well-being, it was evident that she genuinely cared and went above and beyond to make sure my furry friend had the best time in her care. Throughout my time away, Emma - Lee kept me updated regularly, and I mean, VERY regularly! I received heartwarming photos and delightful videos every day, showcasing all the joyous moments she shared with my dog. It felt like I was right there with them, witnessing the happiness my dog exuded in her presence. The communication from Emma - Lee was impeccable. She made sure to inform me of all the activities they were engaging in, including the wonderful walks they took together, playtime, and the special care she put into feeding my pup. It was incredibly reassuring to know that my dog was not only receiving attention but also being fed a well-balanced diet under her watchful eye. One of the most remarkable aspects of Emma - Lee's care was the evident bond she formed with my dog. It was evident from the videos that my fur baby felt comfortable and safe in her company. This level of trust and connection is rare to find in a pet sitter, and it gave me immense peace of mind knowing that my furry companion was in such loving hands. I would highly recommend Emma - Lee to anyone seeking top-notch care for their four-legged family member. Her dedication to the well-being of my dog surpassed all my expectations. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I will undoubtedly entrust her with my pet's care in the future. Thank you, Emma - Lee, for your outstanding service and for treating my dog as if it were your own. Your passion for animals and genuine love for what you do shines through in every aspect of your care. You truly are a gem in the world of dog sitters! Warmest Regards, Marzena Rychlewska

2nd time I have used Emma-Lee to look after my frenchie, this time for 9 days and again was perfect, looking after all of her needs, administered her meds. Keeping me updated all the time with messages & photos. Looked after extremely well in recent heatwave also giving her the cool coat when needed & home made frozen treats. Cannot thank her & James enough for always giving the care, love & attention that my doggie required. X

Our 7 mth puppy had an amazing time with Emma-Lee. We had a last min cancellation of our normal dog care (family members) and had to turn to rover to find alternative help. This was the first time we had left our puppy with strangers and Emma-Lee made us feel so comfortable from the very start! She was incredibly responsive to our many questions and made us feel reassured he was in safe hands. She definitely sensed our nervousness and went out of her way to keep us posted on his stay with loads of photos and video’s. The stress/guilt we felt leaving him went away and we managed to properly relax in the knowledge he was being well looked after. Thank you again Emma-Lee.

Safety, trust & environment

Hygiene is a very important aspect of my care; I typically expect the owner to provide everything required for a stay (food, harness, bowls, leash, toys, crate, bedding, etc) to prevent the spread of disease. I expect your dog to be up to date with vaccinations and provide proof. You will notice already that I have a fenced garden (6ft tall fence) for your dog to use. Additionally, for safety reasons, I take great care with keeping my house tidy and putting unsafe items out of harms way during stays. At night dogs are kept in my kitchen where they can be happily crated (or not), this saves your pet from being tempted from doing something dangerously foolish whilst I am unable to supervise.

Information Emma-Lee T. would like to know about your pet

When you first message me I will link you to a questionnaire where I will ask about important information so that I am fully prepared for their stay. But I more than welcome any supplementary information about your pet as it helps me be more prepared for their upcoming stay.

A typical day

To start off I will allow them to sniff around the house and get used to the new smells. Once calmed down a bit, we will either play a little fetch inside or perhaps have a few cuddles to allow us to get to know each other. Within the house I will practice name recall to test responsiveness so I have a good understanding of what to expect in case of emergencies. Once I feel there is a level of trust between me and your dog, and I feel confident enough to, we will then go out for a walk to the local nature reserve just 10 minutes away from my front door. For safety reasons, I will not let your dog off the lead on walks. It should also be noted that your dog will only be walked once a day and if they are picked up before mid afternoon then it is unlikely that I would have walked them that day. With your verbal permission, I may take your dog with me to play with family dogs, which are vaccinated, neutered, and flea/tick treated, in a large fenced garden under my close supervision. If your dog shows signs of distress during this visit then they will be immediately taken home but I have never had any issues. I can guarantee round the clock pats and cuddles along with plenty of availability to play with your dog. Though, come evening time things usually calm down a lot for a good lazy chill before bed time. Dogs sleep in my kitchen at night and cannot stay in my bedroom for their own safety. My kitchen is next to my bedroom so I am able to listen out for any distress in the night. If your dog has a small enough crate (and they are crate trained) I may be able to allow them to sleep in my bedroom in special circumstances. As previously mentioned, I will have to go out for an hour and half during term dates. Your dog will be kept in my kitchen behind a closed door whilst I am out for their own safety.
