Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals since I was a kid (horses, dogs, cats, chickens, birds, fish, injured wild animals, etc) and have taken my own dogs to multiple kinds of training classes (puppy obedience, advanced obedience, agility) over the last 8 years. I currently own 2 dogs after the losses of my older 2 boys and have been petsitting for over 10 years. Pursuing a career researching the psychology of interspecies relationships, I understand animals’ body languages and prioritize their safety and well-being absolutely. I understand the bond owners have with pets and treat that bond with the utmost respect. Note** I am graduating college, so starting May 18th, I will be back in CT

Emma is great! She was patient and kind with my pup who is always anxious with new people. She provided updates on how things were going. I highly recommend her!
Emma was very personable and professional, she even did a pre-visit swing by the house to check out all the details prior to the engagement.
I will definitely use Emma again, she was very thorough in understanding our dogs needs. She provided a lot of activity throughout the day and kept us updated with pictures and texts. Our dog can be shy with strangers but she was liking Emma's face withing minutes. I certainly recommend Emma.
Emma is our go to cat sitter. Super friendly and responsive and one of the few (outside of our family) that our cat seems to get along with. Thanks again, Emma!

I have experience training and crating puppies and adult dogs and I can cater to your dog or cat’s individual needs. I’m experienced with caring for multiple animals at once and can provide care to puppies/kittens and senior animals.

Please let me know if you don’t do anything for tick prevention and/or vaccinate for lyme disease or if you’d like me to stick to sidewalks and roads while walking your dog, and let me know if they are not up to date with vaccinations! I always prefer to do meet and greets so I know what to expect caring for your furry family, and let me know if he/she is especially reactive to anything in particular (other dogs/strangers/cars/etc) so I can prepare for and avoid those things. Unfortunately I don’t have experience with special needs animals and in the interest of those pets getting proper care, I won’t be able to accept jobs for them unless you are willing to walk me through their routine very thoroughly. I can administer basic medicine orally to cats and kittens.
A typical day
If your dog is up for some activity, I’m happy to go for walks around the block, play in the backyard, or (my personal favorite) take a walk in the woods! Whatever suits you and your dog best! With cats, I can play with toys for them or just sit down and give them some love! I know cats can be picky with their people, though, so if your cat is more of a hider, I’m totally fine to just sit somewhere in the house for however long is needed and let them warm up to me.

Availability
I can do early mornings, late nights, and everything in-between! I am most available Fri-Mon or, on weekdays, early morning-noon and late evenings. I can make time for your pet any day of the week, though, I just ask you be ready to work around my class schedule for afternoon care!
