Former Puppy Daycare Manager
Pet care experience
Hi! My name’s Emma, and I’m a 25 y/o college student in Boston. About 3 years ago, I took a year off of college and worked my way up to manager at a puppy-only daycare! I was in charge of caring for anywhere between 25-30 pups a day, all under the age of 1. We worked in teaching potty training, preventing resource guarding, and socialization with other puppies and humans. We had just about every breed you could think of, and so many I never heard of! While working, I took an online certificate course on dog cognition and emotion. I’ve also grown up with dogs and have watched countless dogs for friends/family. I have extensive experience working with and watching my old roommate’s dog who is reactive, and I’ve learned what to look for in body language and signals through her! I now have my own 5 month old lab puppy, Bumi. He is my absolute world, and he has taught me so much. He’s my PTSD service dog in training. In the past few years, I did nothing but research training, nutrition, wellness, and how dogs develop. It’s been fascinating and I’ve fallen in love with training!
Reviews
Emma was did a great job taking care of our boy Wrigley. She was very communicative and sent us pictures while we were away.
Emma's care and frequent communication were fantastic. Our dog was happy yet so chill when we got home that we knew she was very pampered in our absence by Emma.
Emma did a great job sitting for our pup! She left us tons of notes and photos and stayed in touch about how he was doing while we were out. Communication, meet and greet and pickup were all super easy. We'd definitely get her to watch Rufus again.
Emma was fantastic from start to finish. She was kind and wonderful to our three dogs. She was attentive and took great care of our home. Our pups were happy and safe. We will use Emma again every chance that we get and hope that she becomes a part of the family. Thanks Emma!!!

Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I’m always watching for signs of comfort and trust. I take it easy and never force anything because the last thing I want to do is lose any trust and progress we might have gained. I’ve learned a lot about body language and I’m pretty good at catching on to dog’s “tells” and signals. I absolutely love just watching them and figuring out their personality!
Information Emma J. would like to know about your pet
If they are friendly with people or other dogs, allergies, routines (feeding, walking, manners, training- whatever!), fears, quirks, things you might be working on, any “manners” or behaviors you want to discourage or encourage
A typical day
I’ve learned so many ways to keep a puppy/dog mentally stimulated. There’s so many simple, DIY games we can play that tires them out physically as well. I am more than happy to take the longest walk to let them sniff and explore and work their brain. I try to avoid any on leash greetings as much as possible, even if a dog is friendly and sociable with other dogs. I don’t have a car, but I love to walk around any recommended parks or routes!

I do work park time and go to school full time, but I organize my schedule to give myself as many free days as possible!
