Hi there! My name is Emma. I'm a current veterinary student and a veterinary assistant with many years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and everything in between. My clinical background makes me comfortable and reliable with elderly pets, medically fragile animals, and reactive dogs. I offer petsitting services to supplement my part time income, because vet school sure isn't cheap! I offer caring, punctual, and reliable service with plentiful updates on your beloved pet. If you happen to have any exotic or unusual pets in your home, I can take care of them during my visits as well. I have several snakes at home and have experience caring for aquariums, birds, reptiles of ALL varieties, and even invertebrates.

Emma house sat for us while we were out of town. Our elderly cat has a lot of special needs and she seemed totally comfortable dealing with that. We also unexpectedly came across a kitten a day before we left that we were housing and she lovingly added that to her duties. She made us feel totally at ease while we were out of town. We would definitely recommend her.

I am a detail-oriented, dedicated sitter who will ensure all your directions are followed to a T. I am very comfortable with dietary restrictions, administering medications (including insulin or other injectables), and monitoring pets with health conditions. I've received continuing educations courses on pet first aid and CPR, and would be more than willing to transport your pet to their primary veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian in case of an accident or illness. As an overnight sitter, I am clean, quiet, and trustworthy. I wash dishes and sheets after myself and overall maintain homes the same way I found them.

I don't have any breed preferences, I have experience with a wide variety of dogs. Some things I'd love to know about your furbaby before I sit or walk them: Are they a flight risk? I restrain all dogs securely during walks, but would take extra precautions with those who may be likely to bolt. Do they have any reactivity or aggression triggers I should know about? Do they have any fears? Vacuum cleaners, thunderstorms, etc. All this information helps me not only care for your dog, but keep them as happy as possible while I do!
A typical day
I can match boarding activities to the personal needs of each pet I sit, including length of walks, indoor or fenced in playtime, or pre-approved field trips to Lake Johnson or Umstead Park!

As a current veterinary student, my overnight availability is primarily geared towards the weekends (including Fridays) and holidays, but I can often accommodate single night stays or drop-ins during the week as well.
