Ensuring quality care and love
Pet care experience
I started taking care of neighborhood animals when I was 12 years old and continued down this path of animal care and rescue into my adulthood. I took care of a childhood dog for 16 years of my life before rescuing three of my own as an adult. All three of my rescues have their own unique behavioral issues. One I cannot have around small children from trauma inflicted on her by them. My other cannot regulate her emotions when she gets overstimulated, and my youngest is a deaf and mostly blind double merle! I have taken care of my own pets, taken care of countless neighborhood pets, and I have also worked on a horse farm where I was trusted to take care of the horses, donkeys, and pigs. My passion is taking care of animals. My empathy for them is great and its my goal to make sure that even the saddest animals have a full life and find happiness. I also like to make sure that when they are missing their families I can make them as happy, loved and cared for as possible until their families return.
Reviews
Last year both of my dogs, Daisy and Drama, came down with a terrible case of fleas. I treated them, bombed the house, treated the yard, everything I could think of but nothing worked. When I told Emma she inquired about what remedies I had tried, sympathized and offered further suggestions that worked in her experiences. The next day Emma knocked on my door. She had purchased a very pricey flea medication for both Daisy and Drama. She helped me apply it to both of my pups and made sure I understood all the instructions. She would not accept the payment for the treatment simply telling me “as long as their happy (Daisy and Drama) I’m happy.” Within a couple days both my pups and my house were free of fleas! I’ve never met anyone that cares for animals and their people as much as Emma does. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done for my girls and I.
I've known Emma's dogs and Emma for nearly ten years and I'm still impressed by how much energy she gives and takes from her pups. All three of her dogs are very different but she runs with them according to what they need. She makes sure her old lady doesn't get too bothered by the puppy, makes sure the puppy knows what not to bother (the puppy was born with congenital eye issues), and ensures that her energetic middle child gets the running she needs. I've seen her walk all three up an old gravel carriage road with a smile on her face. I frankly can't imagine a canine situation she could not handle.

Unfortunately, due to my own three rescue dogs at home I will not be able to take pets back to my house for care at this time.
Information Emma C. would like to know about your pet
I’d want to know what things cause them the most anxiety and what things make them the happiest. I’d also want to know what ailments or behaviors they are prone to or have had in the past. If like to also know If they are good with other dogs and/or people and children, so that during walks/hikes I can be prepared.
A typical day
I enjoy hiking, so as long as given permission I would like to take the dogs on hikes in areas I know well and know have no ticks or porcupines! I am also a runner so if there are any dogs who enjoy running with their owners, I am happy to take dogs with me on my runs as well.
