Pawsitively the best!

Pet care experience

I grew up having dogs in the house, and have been caring for dogs off and on since I was a teenager. I cared for a long-time doggie friend named Pooh (as in "Winnie the Pooh":) ) who passed of old age and possibly too much honey, and with the same family a couple years later with their new dog who is still alive and well. I spent the last few years (before my recent relocation to Houston) consistently dog sitting and walking for a family in Denver. Additionally, I cared for, walked, and sat handfuls of pups in my college days in Savannah (and even helped rescue several strays) until I decided to have one of my own! I have had my dog Kuzo (not to be confused with Cujo!) since he was 2 months old. We found him with two other tiny puppies in a parking lot in Savannah, Georgia. I helped find good homes for the other two but Kuzo couldn't leave my side! Mr. Kuzo is a 7 year old sweet, wiggly beagle mix who loves to make new pals, run, dance and pretend he is a cat. All dogs in my care get a little training, treats for good behavior, endless love, pets, snuggles and heaps of nature time!

I am so pleased to offer a recommendation for Emma! I have known Emma for more than fifteen years. She has been a dog walker and fur baby visitor for Bear (yellow lab) and Rascal, (southern coon dog). She is always on time and conscientious with our very active boys. I especially appreciate that she spends the time needed to make sure they are engaged and active. Rascal is a rescue dog, and having one herself, Emma knows he appreciates that little extra love and attention.

Emma has cared for our dog, Sophie, on many occasions over the past 2 years. We have entrusted her to walk Sophie as well as stay with her for extended periods when we travel. She is caring, conscientious and always attentive to Sophie's needs. We have spent time around Emma with her own dog who clearly adores her and know that her affection for her dog extends to any dog in her world. We recommend her without reservation as a dog-walker for Rover!

Emma has watched my dog (male Greyhound, 11yrs old) many, many times over the past few years. She is reliable and prompt in her communication. Never have had a problem. Highly recommend!

Information Emma B. would like to know about your pet

What type of walk/care are you looking for? Does the dog need to run? Or is it an older dog, and needs gentler walks? Also, dog's temperament and if it gets along well with other dogs is important. Info. to know before sitting: What your daily routine looks like, any special needs, specific treats they love. Also, if your dog is not allowed on furniture, has an uncontrollable bladder (some dogs pee when they're excited!), has a difficult time riding in cars (ie: older dogs), or is a bonafide escape artist! Knowledge of the breed is also helpful. My own four-legged friend and I love meeting new pups!

A typical day

I like to go on 1/2 mile - 1 mile walks (which usually takes a minimum 1/2-1 hour). I like to occasionally take dogs to run in the parks (I love laying in the grass possibly as much as they do) and playing fetch in fenced in areas. Because I moved from a place where greenery was always at my fingertips, I am constantly seeking out nature in this vast city. Many dog walks will consist of seeking out the green and relishing when we find it!
