Pet care experience
I was raised on a hobby farm and always had cats, dogs, cows, goats and rabbits underfoot while growing up. My husband and I then adopted the sweetest Bichon Frise mix together, who sadly passed away way too young from kidney failure in 2022. We spent a joy-less year as a dog-free family, and then in May 2023 we started petsitting to fill the void. With three kiddos 6 and under my husband and I aren't ready to commit to adopting a pet of our own, but that just means we all have extra love and affection to shower on YOUR pup while you enjoy your vacation!
Reviews
Emma is always a perfect host for Goobs. The family atmosphere and her understanding of elderly dogs is so reassuring when we leave Goobs with her. Excellent care and beyond. We only use her for our Goobs when we can’t take him with us!
We are so happy with Emma and her family taking care of our pup,Reggie. It was Reggie’s first time staying, so his anxiety was high, Emma and the kids helped Reggie through that with a lot of exercise and patient loving attention. We loved that Emma sent us pictures during his entire stay. We are very happy with Emma and family and Reggie will for sure be visiting again!
Emma was great. Communication was quick, and easy. Frequent updates with pictures was certainly appreciated. The children were very gentle and sweet with the dog. I could tell they have been coached on how to treat animal visitors. We were grateful for a nice place for our little dog to go visit.
Amazing! Trustworthy, reliable, and kind. My pup loves her.

Your dog will be a part of your family while they are here, which includes plenty of couch snuggles, belly rubs, and frozen peanut butter kongs and lick mats for downtime enrichment. I will send plenty of pictures and updates throughout their stay, and am also able to give medications and/or a specialized diet as needed. Last, but certainly not least, I worked at a doggy daycare/boarding/training center for a number of years, and then did customer service for a local dog food company for 5 years after that. All things dogs and dog training is what brings me joy. I throw in training sessions throughout the day and on walks regardless, but if there is anything specific you'd like me to work on while your pup is with us please let me know!

Information Emma B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know the details below so I can go into their time with us fully prepared: - Any food allergies? (I like to make enrichment bowls and kongs with a variety of ingredients, typically peanut butter, applesauce, shredded cheese and/or chicken broth). - Have they had any concerns while boarding in the past? - What commands do they know? (My kids love to try their hand at 'training'!)
A typical day
A typical day starts around 6 with a long walk before the kids wake up. We live right off the bike trail, so there is tons for your dog to sniff and explore while we walk. There is a big field across the street from our house which is great for fetch and sniff breaks throughout the day (I'll use a long line instead of their standard leash). I toss in short training sessions throughout the day to keep your dog on their toes, and keep them occupied with frozen peanut butter kongs or lick mats for downtime enrichment. In the afternoons we walk to the park if it's nice out, or play down in our basement which has lots of space for your dog to explore. The day will end with a last good walk around the neighborhood after the kids are in bed.
