We spent a year travelling the UK in 2021/2022 house and pet sitting using platforms like Housesitters UK and Trusted Housesitters which gave us valuable experience of a variety of pets including cats, dogs and smallholdings. Luke works full time for a well known dog rehoming organisation and has experience with a wide range of breeds of dogs. Emma's special interest is in the nervous system, why does this matter ? Because animals mirror the state of us, if we are stressed and anxious, they pick up on this, we understand how important it is to be emotionally regulated so that your pet is calm and relaxed around us. This isn't something that can be faked. Mammals gain a sense of safety from co regulation with other mammals. Sniffing is really important to a dogs wellbeing, it is one of the ways that they self regulate it lowers their pulse rate, we recognise how important it is not to rush a dog on a walk when they are sniffing.

Emma and Luke have looked after our house and dog on a number of occasions. From the outset, they took great care to get to know both us and our dog’s daily routine to ensure the best care possible. Their paperwork and admin gave us reassurance, that they were and continue to be , committed to being as professional as they can be. They also update their information for each sitting to ensure that no detail is missed. Our dog , who can be a bit wary of new people was a little nervous to start with but she soon got to know them and Luke and Emma are now greeted like ‘one of the family’. On every occasion the house was left spotless for our return and our dog was happy and relaxed. We would have no hesitation in recommending Luke and Emma to look after your house and pets.

Emma & Luke were outstanding House / Pet sitters, we cannot recommend them more highly- our holiday was so relaxed due to the efficient & appreciated communication when we asked them about our pets sporadically. Our home was so respected & the log piles left for us incredible (just an example of their thoughtfulness). We asked them to stay the night before we departed & to join us early afternoon so they walked the dogs with us, observed feeding time, then they joined us for supper so we could ensure all was clear & easy for them. They are such a lovely couple & amazing with animals- they work remotely- so we knew they could enjoy a great environment as well as helping us out. We had never meet them & in their communication prior we felt confident & they 100% delivered. Highly recommend
Emma and Luke were our first house sitters and turned out to be everything we could have wished for. They communicated well, arrived at the agreed time and instantly put our minds at rest. Emma and Luke clearly loved dogs and brought their lovely, quiet, relaxed dog, Blue, with them (with prior arrangement of course). The three dogs got on well but Emma and Luke were careful not to leave them alone until they were sure they were ok together. Emma sent photos throughout the week and reassured us that everything was fine, and our dogs were clearly very happy and relaxed when we returned home. They were extremely organised, clean, tidy and polite....the perfect housesitters! We would welcome them back.

You may overlook things that are obvious to you as you live with and know your pet, but that are important for us to know. A typical day
Dogs are let out for a "sniffari" which supports their circadian rhythym getting daylight first thing and also opportunity for toilet and sniffing, allowing them to sniff for as long as they want without any pulling on the lead which is important for them to regulate and relieve stress. Sniffing is the way dogs read their world. we will feed your pets as per your instructions. We will exercise/walk/ play with your pet according to your pets needs and routine. Availability
After travelling the UK house and pet sitting for almost a year during 2022, using a number of platforms such as House Sitters UK and Trusted Housesitters. We are now home in the Penrith area and will consider travelling, the cost of which will be factored in to our quote. Emma works from home and is completely in charge of her schedule. Luke works full time and will be present evenings and weekends if local, otherwise Emma comes alone.
