Emily has taken care of animals since she was old enough to walk! She has had hamsters, fish, cats, and dogs. In high school, she worked summers at the Animal Shelter, taking care of all of the animals and working tirelessly to find them all homes. For many years she wanted to be a veterinarian and even started out in college down this path but after a year off from college in which time she was a substitute teacher, he changed her mind and then decided to take care of children instead. But she continues to take care of animals, including her own cat and dogs, even now while she is a full-time elementary Health and PE teacher, teaching around 500 elementary kids every week. During her summers she has taken care of my pets for me. I have 2 cats and a dog. She would always walk Opie, the dog, but she knows he is old so she made sure that he walked in the grass, no concrete nor pavement. My cats love her and Emily helped me with them often especially when they were kittens. I can not think of a better animal lover than Emily!
