Pet care experience
I see pets as part of the family, that deserve all the best love and care that can be provided and that is something I will always go the extra mile for! I’ve had pets for all of my life and from a young age would be very involved in the process of training family dogs and to maintain their care. I also have two cats of my own and have been praised by my vet for their health and happiness. I regularly pet sat for friends and family for years and have gotten other pet sitting jobs just from word of mouth about my level of care. I’ve been on Rover for around a year now and have built some great relationships with clients and their furry family members.

Emily was great! House was in perfect shape after a week and our dog seemed like he had lots of good care and snuggles! Wonderful!!!!

Safety, trust & environment
I take care to be respectful of yours and your pets space. I hold the “leave no trace” mentality whether that’s in the outdoors or in your home I will always be considerate of muddy paws and shoes if I need to enter, and diligently clean up after myself. I also firmly believe that communication and boundaries are key! I will always communicate details that affect your dogs care, and find that a mutual respect of everyone’s boundaries (yours, mine, and your pets!) will create the best environment for our arrangements to flourish. I will not ever put your pet in a situation it may be uncomfortable or unsafe in, I am comfortable asserting your pets boundaries in public spaces and take the role of being their advocate and caretaker very seriously.
Information Emily W. would like to know about your pet
For any pets I’d like to know what the big no’s are for them. What do they dislike? What makes them react or feel unsafe? I want to do everything I can to make sure your pet feels comfortable and safe with me. Please let me know if your dog has any reactivity issues! It’s important to me that your dog is safe in public spaces and I will seek environments that may be better suited to their comfort zone. I’d also love to know about their personalities and things they love! Certain toys? Car rides? Fetch? The ultimate scratch spot? All the more to add to the list of things I can do with them :)
A typical day
I am happy to find activities that fit your pets comfort zones! Do they want to stay mellow? Or get active? I have ideas for all kinds of activities that we can choose from together to make sure your pet enjoys themselves! That being said I love hiking and getting out in the woods and on trails! What better place for that than Whatcom County. I’d love to take your dogs out to the hikes and beaches on Chuckanut or to any of the parks that are in town, even strolling through your neighborhood I will try to find new routes that add novelty to your pets routines!

Availability
I currently work part time, typically three days a week but even on days I work, I am available and am willing to work around my schedule with you. My schedule is not very restrictive and I can be pretty flexible! I’m also an avid outdoors person so the time I might spend walking your pet is time I’ve already planned on spending outside! I also love having variety and to explore so each day could be a new adventure for your pet!
