Pet care experience
*Note: I work as a veterinary nurse Monday-Thursday 8AM-5:30PM, not available for care during those hours (holidays are the exception). Thank you* With 20+ years of pet care experience, including 14 years as a vet tech, I treat each animal as I would my own. I enjoy getting to know clients and their companion animals. I feel it is important for pets to have someone familiar taking care of them while their people are away. For this reason, I will usually ask to set up a meet and greet prior to the first booking. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience with small mammals (e.g. gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits), exotics (e.g. lizards, turtles, birds), and farm animals (e.g. chickens, horses, cows, sheep, goats). Whether exercising exuberant young animals, entertaining indoor cats, or just keeping them company so they don't miss you [as much], I'm there to be another one of their people! I look forward to meeting your animal companion(s) and learning more about their routine and requirements to keep them happy & healthy while you are away. You can expect to receive updates including photos while they are in my care.
Reviews
Emily was amazing with our pups yet again! We hadn't been anywhere in a while but Frank our chocolate lab recognized Emily right away and was so excited to see her again! She was very attentive and it was nice to be able to relax on vacation knowing that our dogs were being well cared for.
Emily was great and we’d definitely ask her to watch our cats again!! She sent so many pictures and updates while we were away, which I appreciated so much!
Emily did a great job dropping in on our high needs dog. She was flexible, communicative and very kind with our traumatized baby. We'd definitely work with her again!
Emily has a gentle touch with our anxious pup, and always goes above and beyond with care and communication - I highly recommend her!

My own yard is unfenced; I offer leashed walks and potty breaks in yard and/or on nearby trails. Due to respect for my 3 cats, I do not offer doggy day care or sitting in my home across the board. I have made exceptions for cat-friendly and low-key critters in the past. Find it generally works best to care for pets in the comfort of their own home, where I keep their regular routine going to the best of my ability.
Information Emily W. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog/cat has any special needs, allergies, diet restrictions, etc I can account for. As a veterinary technician, am comfortable working with many illnesses/disabilities. I can work with fearful or anxious dogs so long as you are working with them to help promote their comfort level with new situations. It's important to me your pet is happy & comfortable while you are away.
A typical day
Dog care including meals, walking, and waste removal; cat care including playtime, litter box clean up, feeding, and medicating; and overnight visits are just a few of the services I offer. I have on occasion also had dogs and a cat stay at my own home when needed. Dogs in my care often enjoy fun adventures such as exploring new trails and bodies of water (weather permitting), playing fetch, or simply hanging out together in the case of more mellow pups.

Availability
Drop-in visits available around my work schedule of 8am-6pm Monday-Thursday. Flexible for mid-day/anytime visits Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays. As I work fulltime and have 3 cats of my own, am not able to offer 24hr/day house/pet sitting services. Overnight pet care is possible, however offered on case-by-case basis. Thank you for your understanding!
