Pet care experience
I want to be a friend to your dogs or cats so they don't have to worry when you're away. I have taken care of animals myself and through pet-sitting odd jobs for years now and have gotten even the most ferocious of chihuahuas to love me. I'm confident that I could be a source of comfort and stability to your pet when you're away by playing with them and being attentive to their needs. It is also important to me that you feel relaxed and trust that your pet is in good hands and will be safe. I grew up with dogs, cats, and fish, so I know how to handle big dogs, puppies who are potty training, old cats, young cats, you name it. I do odd jobs around Grand Rapids and have a flexible schedule.

Emily has taken care of our Aussiedoodle on two separate occasions - once for 19 days, and once for a week. She stayed in our home so our dog would be less stressed by our absence. She did a great job! Very responsible and trustworthy, and she loves animals. She made sure our dog was walked and played with and snuggled - texted us pictures and sent us updates. We we're very happy and would definitely use her services again!

I always keep a fresh water bowl! And insist on scooping litter every day. If I see a dirty water bowl at a client's home, I will most definitely wash it out and make it fresh. I love to play with animals and find their favorite toys. And when I see a pet mess, I clean it up immediately. For pets who love snuggles I'm there, but if I can tell they want space I know not to force attention.

I'd like to know if the dog has a history of escaping, fighting with strange dogs, or is a rescue dog. I show love to every dog I work with, but knowing if your dog has experienced trauma or has certain fears would help me be more conscientious.
A typical day
If your dog loves people, we can go for walks in parks or at the local colleges. If your dog likes to walk around your home area, that's okay, too! I love the woods so I would love to take your dog on a nature walk. I also love to play fetch or just chase one another around the yard.

Availability
I have three cats of my own, two with special needs, one of which needs a pill twice a day. So, pet care is a huge part of my life. I help with my neighbor's dog regularly as well as pet-sit for some other friends' dogs and cats. Some with other special needs and daily pills.
