Full time dog lover!
Pet care experience
As someone’s who’s had dogs all my life, I can confidently say that all dogs are good boys/girls. I was previously a part-time veterinarian assistant in a private clinic, then worked with disabled dogs at UW. I now work as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Portland. My favorite moments are getting to play with puppies in my downtime, and give all pets that come my way the best care that they can receive. I’m extremely passionate about animals and would feel honored to spend time with your pup and love him/her like they were my own. Fun fact: I got my BS in Psychology from University of Washington with an additional certification in Applied Animal Behavior. I'd like to work with retired circus animals in the future as an animal behaviorist/therapist. With my certification, I am qualified to counter-condition your pup or cat from an unfavorable behavior. Does your cat have a problem with marking its territory around the house? Does your dog bark every time someone knocks on the door? These are the types of behaviors I have the knowledge of preventing and training against. Let me know in advance if there is something along these lines that you would like me to work on with your pet. I'd love to get any and all practice! As for drop-bys and dog walking, I am looking to build clientele who trust me to keep their dog(s) safe and happy. I am comfortable walking large breeds such as German shepherds and pit bulls, as well as smaller breeds including corgis and chihuahuas. I am willing to work with your pup if he or she has special needs, and will make sure they get treats and lots of love while they’re with me. I do have two ferrets at home, so as long as you don't mind me stopping by to play with them for ~2hrs midday and a check in at night then it shouldn't be an issue. Besides that, I'm flexible about overnight stays and meeting your pets needs. :)
Reviews
Emily was great! My puppy clearly loved hanging out with her. Highly recommend booking her!
Emily did a wonderful job house sitting our two golden retrievers. She provided frequent communication and pictures. Happy dogs!
Emily is great! Super responsive, sent lots of pictures, and always told me how my cat was doing. I genuinely felt good leaving town knowing she was with him!!
Thanks for taking a good care of our bulldogs!

I am comfortable crating your dog if needed, or simply staying with them for most of the day to keep them company. I have a ton of experience working with dogs who have separation anxiety and need a lot of human time. I can provide as many walks, potty breaks, and love per day as requested so long as it doesn't interfere with my regular work schedule!
Information Emily T. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know in advance about special needs, tendencies/behaviors worth noting, and what I should keep a look out for while taking care of your dog. Do they like to chew cords? Do they try to get into the cat's food? Does your dog get anxiety or aggressive around other dogs? Things like that. I love all breeds but have a VERY soft spot for golden retrievers. :)
A typical day
Plenty of cuddles, grooming (if he/she is a fan), fetch/frisbee, or simply a few laps around the block if you have a senior dog who needs to go at a slower pace. I can accommodate for all energy levels and personalities!

I have an active schedule but I am willing to make time to take care of your dog, cat, etc. I have abundant experience pet-sitting and am familiar and consistent with potty breaks, feeding, grooming (if necessary), as well as medication administration. You can have confidence that I am appropriately trained to handle your pup, no matter what size, breed, or age. I can administer medication as needed and can provide any necessary senior care for your dog (or cat!) I do have a 30hr/week work schedule, with shifts ranging from 5-10 hours. Please reach out to inquire about my specific schedule for your booking request to see if it's a good fit. *PLEASE READ: I will give priority to those who guarantee a safe parking space (personal driveway, garage, parking garage (with approval to avoid risk of towing), or something equivalent). Unfortunately my car has been subject to expensive theft/damage and/or tickets in the past due to street parking. These expenses come out of whatever I make from the booking, so I'd like to avoid it at all costs! If street parking is the only option, my client agrees to compensate for damages or tickets to my vehicle at the time of booking.
