Animals are cooler than people

Pet care experience

My spirit dog is a chocolate lab. Much like the chocolate lab, I am incredibly outgoing and love spending time in nature while also never turning down the opportunity for a good nap. Looking for someone to take your dog on a hike to get their energy out? Or need a hand getting them out for their daily walk? Have a last minute trip that takes you out of town and are panicking trying to find someone to watch your fur babies? I'm your gal. I have cared for animals most of my life ranging from puppies to senior dogs and kittens to full grown cat overlords (all hail the cat overlord). I have a soft spot for the "meanest looking" dogs and I am a firm believer that there are no bad dogs, just training opportunities. I have experience in training dogs across different age ranges and have handled dogs ranging in sizes from a tiny bichon to St. Bernards.

Emily always plays and loves on my dog so well! He absolutely loves her and I feel a lot better knowing she stopped by.

Highly recommend Emily! She updated and sent photos. Made sure my kitty got quality attention. She’s super kind and personable. Couldn’t ask for more in a pet sitter!

She took a last second appointment with my 5y/o doberman. Killed it, he actually ran back in her house when I picked him up! 10/10

First time using Rover. Emily was absolutely amazing with my high energy lab. She took him in for a week, and she kept him very entertained with car rides, hikes, walks, and swims. He loved every second with her!

Safety, trust & environment

Overall, my approach is whatever is best for the pet. I want to keep their routine as normal as possible. In the client's home, I aim to keep the pet on their usual routine and schedule to create a sense of normalcy while their parent are out of town. I am able to stay overnight if needed. For Boarding: I currently offer this on an as-needed basis. I only accept multiple animals if they are from the same home and a maximum of 2 at a time (barring extreme circumstances). I have a fenced-in yard in a duplex at the back of a private driveway. There is no through-road so it's incredibly quiet and safe where I live. I'm a 5-minute walk from a dog park as well as miles of paved dog-friendly walking paths.

Information Emily T. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any behavioral issues to be aware of: reactiveness/aggressiveness toward other dogs, reactiveness to being approached or pet a specific way (e.g. some dogs don't like a direct approach to their head with a hand), sensitive areas on their bodies (e.g. some dogs don't enjoy being tickled in their hips), excessive barking or reactivity to noises, marking or accidents in the home, etc. Please inform me of any medications or special needs (e.g. medical conditions, missing limbs, hearing or vision difficulties, etc), feeding routines, etc. They goal is to keep their life as normal as possible and the key is communication.

A typical day

I love taking dogs for hikes and walks! If they are swimmers, I usually like to find a safe, shallow spot for them to paddle on warm days. Cathedral Hills is a favorite that is close in town and a great spot for hiking. I have seat belts for four-legged riders in my vehicle. I love going to the dog park that is close by my house.

I work T-F from 7:00 am-5:30 pm. I have flexibility on when I can take my lunch so mid-day potty breaks during my working days are no problem. I am quite active and take daily 3-mile walks in the evenings. Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays are quite flexible. Boarding is available if needed upon discussion of schedule.
