Pet care experience
When I was 12, I begged my Dad to let us have a dog. Not only until my siblings and I successfully took care of a plant, did he let us adopt our sweet beagle rescue, Sammy. 15 years later, my family has rescued 5 new beagles and I adopted Charlie, my 60 lb sweet, goofy walker tree hound. I firmly believe animals can connect with humans on a very deep level and I love all dogs from the busy bodies the lazy couch loungers. Charlie has changed my life and to say I'm a dog person would be an understatement. In terms of past experience, I've encountered and managed dogs with behavioral issues and am well aware of typical medical needs and allergies. I've learned quite a lot from my sister who is currently in Vet school! Excited to make some new furry friends!
Reviews
I lived with Emily while in college and I haven't met many people who love dogs as much as her. She was always very patient with her stubborn foxhound and was an incredibly loving owner. She also took very good care of our roommates elderly dog when she went out of town. I would definitely trust her to take care of my dog.
Emily is a dog lover and has a dog of her own but he doesn't live with her in LA yet. She adopted her Walker Hound 2 1/2 years ago from the Humane Society in Virginia. Charlie is the sweetest dog that will join Emily once she gets settled and has a place for him to join her. In the meantime she will be thrilled to spend time with other dogs that need some attention and companionship. Emily enjoys being outside and loves to care and play with dogs. Her family has 5 beagles that she has cared for. I know you will love Emily's warm and friendly demeanor when caring for your dog.

Safety, trust & environment
Since I offer home stays and also drop in visits, I’m sure to let your dog become comfortable with a new person in their space. Letting new dogs sniff and take their time to approach you is crucial for developing trust. I have two dogs in my apartment who are very loving and sociable as well.
Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know how comfortable your dog is with other dogs and what activities they enjoy the most! It’s also important to know any pet peeves (no pun intended ◡̈)
A typical day
I will do coastal walks (Santa Monica, Venice) hiking trails, local dog parks, or just around the block. Going to dog parks I normally bring a frisbee, tennis ball, and lots of treats!

Availability
I have a senior dog so I understand the importance of prioritizing your pet into your daily schedule. I walk my hound dog, Charlie, 3 times per day and make sure to refill his water bowl regularly, especially during hot days! Giving your dog attention and lots of cuddles on a regular basis is important!
