Pet care experience
I walked and cared for the dogs of family and friends as a teenager. While in college, I would often cat sit and dog sit as a way to get some time with animals and take a break from roommates! As an adult, I adopted a lab-husky mix and I’ve devoted so much time, energy and love to her care. Since then I’ve jumped at the chance to dog sit for my friends dogs. I love meeting new pups and helping out with pet care.

Emily was amazing. She is super fast to respond and communicate and made us feel extremely Comfortable about leaving our pup with her. I would highly tecommmend her. Our dog took to immediately and she asked all the right questions..
Emily was wonderful with Bogey. She was attentive to his needs and was patient with his scent tracking while on walks. 5 stars.
My pup, who is weary of new people, took to Emily immediately. She took such good care of her that I think Osa was sad when I came home.

I would love to know if your dog is reactive or has special personality quirks or health needs. I have a lot of experience with reactive dogs, it’s just always good to know before meeting!
A typical day
I love to take dogs on hikes! Some of my favorites are the Manila Dunes trails, McKay Community Forest, and the Arcata Community Forest. It’s great to see dogs explore new smells and sounds, off the pavement. I’m also a huge fan of nose work games, if it’s okay to give your dog some treats.

Availability
I am a Geology Master’s student and research assistant at Cal Poly Humboldt. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, I am on campus from ~8am-5pm. On Wednesday, I am on campus from ~8am-7:30pm. I am more flexible on weekends. I am available for evening dog sitting and drop ins on the weekdays, and possibly house sitting if your pet can be alone for 8 hours.
