Though I’ve never owned a dog of my own (despite my persistent pleas to my parents), I’ve spent the majority of my years growing up taking care of other people’s dogs! Since I was only 5, I played with my neighbor’s dog, a golden retriever, and I first learned of my burning passion for these loving animals. As I grew up, I had cats and horses of my own, so my knowledge of animal care grew. I became a babysitter and this entailed taking car of the dog as well ( a bonus!). I’ve learned how to adapt and care for other people’s dogs and it has made me confident in my skills as a dog sitter or walker. I recently accompanied my friend overnight to dog sit two beagles and my insight grew even more, along with my love for dogs! My most recent experience was dog sitting a lovely Bichon Frise named Marley for five days! I stayed in the home and watched, fed, and walked Marley, who is an elderly dog with spinal issues. This was my second time staying in-home to watch her, and my knowledge about dog sitting greatly grew from the experience! I’ve had experience with labs, Golden’s, beagles, and many others (small dogs too!). I’ve also had experience in taking care of a diabetic cat (I.e. injections, vet visits, and monitoring) which is a similar case to a diabetic dog, so I feel comfortable with dogs that may need extra care and love. Dogs will always be a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to take care of yours!
