Pet care experience
I have been caring for dogs during their owner's overnight weekend and multiple week-long vacations for over six years now. Caring has included regular walking and playtime to not disrupt the pup's schedule while their owner is away. I have experience watching a variety of breeds (Corgi, Lab, Border Collie, Goldendoodle, Great Dane, and Dobermann), ages (1-16 yoa), and energy levels.

Emily has pet sit my three dogs (two corgis and a mixed breed) lots of times now! I assume most pet owners are like me and are extremely choosy when considering a person to watch their pets (I don't even let my mom watch my dogs!). However, I never had to worry for a second when Emily was watching them. My dogs absolutely adore her and I swear had more fun while under her care then they usually do with me! She is great about providing updates and pictures of your pet having fun and loves them like she would her own. My dogs know her as "Auntie Emily" and get super excited whenever my fiancé and I mention that she's coming over. I can't recommend her enough as a trustworthy pet caretaker!

My experience watching doggos and cats has occurred exclusively in the homes of my clients. This has many positives; adherence to their daily routines and familiarity of their environment to ease any emotional impacts of their owner being absent. This allows me to maintain their favorite walking paths and play spots while branching out to new locations, all dependent on the individual needs of each pup.
Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
My clients tend to have medium dogs with leash (sometimes off-leash) training, basic commands (sit, stay, come), and are socialized to other dogs prior to me working with them. While I'm happy to continue to work with dogs to reinforce the owner's training, I am not qualified to handle dogs with major behavioral issues, specifically lack of socialization around other dogs (aggressive behavior, barking, etc.).
A typical day
While watching dogs, I do consider the needs of the individual dog. Sometimes this looks like adherence to their schedule, typical walking areas, and favorite playtime activities. Other times this includes a break from routine (i.e. exploration of new walking/hiking trails, trips to new parks) to provide mental stimulation.

I'm currently a graduate student working towards my Masters's degree; looking to fill my passion for caring for animals around schoolwork. With a flexible schedule and an understanding of how difficult it can be to leave a pup alone during work hours, I am able to fill this gap with quality exercise and social time.
