I’ve grown up around kitties nearly my entire life, and have always had a soft spot for my feline friends :) I currently have two cats who are both around 3: Rosie (female, spayed, tortoishell) and Twiggy (male, neutered, little void). Both of them were adopted from shelters in St. Louis and through being their cat mama l, I’ve learned to quickly identify changes in behavior that may be indicative of an underlying problem. I’m very methodical in my approach to understanding cat health, and know that stress/change can sometimes bring preexisting or underlying conditions to a head. I am confident administering oral, sub-cutaneous, and topical medications and have a few tricks up my sleeve to make the process go as smoothly as possible. I’m also comfortable administering and adhering to special diets (my kitty, Twiggy, is strictly on an SO diet to prevent the formation of bladder stones).

Emily is amazing! She took care of my 2 year old cat, Nen, over the holidays and was always on time per our agreed time, communicated often and transparently if anything came up that would impact her visit/visit time, and sent the best pictures to let me feel like I was still with my cat! Nen absolutely loves her and I look forward to the next time Emily gets to spend time with her :)
Emily was so great! She sent very detailed notes about our cats from each visit and lots of pictures, and was great with our nervous babies and made me feel a lot better about leaving them while we were gone for several days.
Emily has helped me and my cat a few times now and she's the best! She is a good communicator and asks good questions if anything needs to be clarified. My cat is comfortable and happy with her as well.

For kitty care, I try to maintain as much “normalcy” as possible by not introducing new food, treats, or toys that aren’t already in your kitty’s environment. I don’t cat sit in my own home as to not stress my kitties or yours :)
Information Emily R. would like to know about your pet
For the kitties I watch, I tend to like to have an idea of their personality and habits (meeting them at least once before I cat-sit usually does the trick). It’s also useful to know if there are any specific conditions or behaviors that your fur baby may have that require particular monitoring or attention while I’m watching them. Kitties also behave very differently, and sometimes drastically, to change, so if you have had someone watch them before in the past, it would be helpful to know their general behavior compared to baseline (do they tend to hide, are they more friendly and craving attention, etc). If your kitty is an escape artist, it also helps to have a heads up so I can “get in position” when I come to check on them :)
A typical day
Depending on the kitty and their comfort level with me, I’ll provide pets, snuggles, and play time (with their favorite toys). I usually talk to all of the kitties I watch as I replenish the food and water and scoop the litter. Some kitties are a little skeptical of stranger while their humans are gone, and that’s ok too! I let each cat tell me their preferred level of engagement and I tend not to push it. I’ll diligently monitor their food and water intake as well as litter box usage for all cats.

I currently work during the week from 7am-4pm, but would be able to stop by to visit your feline babies twice a day during the week, or multiple times a day on the weekends.
